I have friends (or used to) in my VG who are anti-vaxxers, believing that the big Pharmas are deliberately discrediting IVM because it will deprive them of the billions they can earn in developing the vaccine.
Similarly, some people at work have asked or told me that Covid is not real & had me stumped for a response. There are a lot of those going around.

Effect of mixing, matching COVID-19 vaccine brands 'remains to be seen': expert | ABS-CBN News

"[Generally speaking] posible talaga na magawa ka ng ibang brand o ibang bakuna at titingnan mo ngayon kung ganon pa rin ang efficacy. Hindi naman makakasama, kaya lang 'yung efficacy, magbabago... May possibility talaga na mag-iiba, kung ang ginamit mo ang ibang bakuna - posibleng magdagdag, posible ring bumaba or posibleng the same, it remains to be seen. Pero hindi masama kung makakaiba ka o makakabago," Bravo said..

(It can be possible to use another brand. It will not do harm in my opinion. However, the efficacy may change if you use a different vaccine. It may decrease, it can increase. But I think it will not do harm if you try.)
Pwede daw tumaas or pwede bumaba ang efficiency pag nag mix and match ng vaccine.

The study describes that the immune response was also evaluated in a subset of the volunteers who received the vaccine or placebo. On these, it was reported that 14 days after the first dose, an increase in antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 protein S was observed only in a fraction of those vaccinated, however, two weeks after the second dose, the presence of of antibodies in 90% of those vaccinated.
^^^ take note only a fraction developed antibodies 14 days after 1st dose

pero 90% meron antibodies 2 weeks after 2nd dose

It was highlighted that it is observed that these antibodies present after the second dose have neutralizing capacity, that is, they would prevent the entry of the virus into human cells.
^^^ neutralizing antibodies after 2nd dose

Regarding the safety of the vaccine carried out in this population, it was indicated that the main adverse effect of the vaccine was pain at the injection site, which resolved within 1-2 days and there were no serious adverse effects associated with the vaccine. It can be concluded that CoronoVac has a very good safety profile.

Usually mga anti-vaxxers cannot cope up with the reality of the pandemic so they resort to their own realities and beliefs, which are conspiracy theories.
Coping mechanism nila yan is to blame others which are the DOH, FDA, WHO and big pharma.
May mga anti-vaxxers na nagsisi and turned around when they got hit with covid and some died.
Usually tou can’t convince them thru arguments and facts but rather, most will turn around when they empathize with covid victims who they know like family and friends.

The ones I encounter don’t like the fact that unproven vaccines are being used & human trials pa. Would rather use ivm. They feel that pharmas are exploiting this disaster.

Hydroxychloroquine 2.0 sya. Remember Trump said that hydroxychloroquine is the cure daw kaya marami naniwala. Ngayon debunked na after clinical trials showed no effect sya. Proper Ivm clinical trials are ongoing and initial results show no effect.
Pero I’m still hoping na meron easy way to end this nightmare, but proper way dapat dumaan.

Do We Still Need to Keep Wearing Masks Outdoors? - The New York Times

    When outdoor risk is lowest

Walking your dog, riding a bike, hiking on a trail or picnicking with members of your household or vaccinated friends are all activities where the risk for virus exposure is negligible. In these kinds of situations, you can keep a mask on hand in your pocket, in case you find yourself in a crowd or need to go indoors.

“I think it’s a bit too much to ask people to put the mask on when they go out for a walk or jogging or cycling,” said Dr. Muge Cevik, a clinical lecturer of infectious disease and medical virology at the University of St. Andrews School of Medicine in Scotland, where outdoor masking has never been required. “We’re in a different stage of the pandemic. I think outdoor masks should not have been mandated at all. It’s not where the infection and transmission occurs.”

“Let me go for my run, maskless. Mask in pocket,” tweeted Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, an infectious diseases physician and the medical director of the special pathogens unit at Boston Medical Center. “Given how conservative I have been on my opinions all year, this should tell you how low risk is, in general, for outdoors transmission for contact over short periods — and lower still after vaccination. Keep the masks on you for when you are stationary in a crowd and headed indoors.”

To understand just how low the risk of outdoor transmission is, researchers in Italy used mathematical models to calculate the amount of time it would take for a person to become infected outdoors in Milan. They imagined a grim scenario in which 10 percent of the population was infected with the coronavirus. Their calculations showed that if a person avoided crowds, it would take, on average, 31.5 days of continuous outdoor exposure to inhale a dose of virus sufficient to transmit infection.

“The results are that this risk is negligible in outdoor air if crowds and direct contact among people are avoided,” said Daniele Contini, senior author of the study and an aerosol scientist at the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences and Climate in Lecce, Italy.

Even as more-infectious virus variants circulate, the physics of viral transmission outdoors haven’t changed, and the risk of getting infected outdoors is still low, say virus experts. Pay attention to the rates of infection in your community. If case counts are surging, your risk of encountering an infected person goes up.
