    No Fever, no cough...

Miro Quimbo - My Auntie Susan passed away last Saturday... | Facebook

    Cong. Miro Quimbo’s fb post.

My Auntie Susan passed away last Saturday from COVID despite the efforts of hardworking medical staff of the NKTI. It came so quickly as she had been in the hospital for only two days. None of us family, specially her very loving kids, could have suspected that she had COVID. She had none of the stated symptoms of the disease. She did not have any fever, no cough, no colds. Nada. My cousin just started noticing a change in her behavior - she suddenly wanted to take siesta every afternoon when she never did so in her 76 year life. Naging antukin lang for several days, in short. It was only when she started snoring heavily that my cousin called my brother-doctor for advise. He asked that a COVID test be done ASAP for precaution but he suspected that my Aunt was having a stroke (which my mom went through two months ago incidentally). The test came out positive so off they went to the ER of NKTI. By the time they got there, her O2 level was below 50! She was immediately intubated. Two days later, she passed on.

People who know me are aware that I do not like sharing my pain with others. It's just not my thing. But I want to tell my Aunt's story to show how deceptively cunning this disease is. COVID is like a sucker punch. Kahit anong paghahanda gawin mo, d mo mapapansin na nandyan na pala sya. You only realize its there when the pain hits you. Let's all be very vigilant mga besh. Stay safe. God bless us all.

    From Dr. Efren Delos Santos:

The virus is back, this time with more energy, tactics and camouflage.

    We don't cough

No fever, it's joint pain, weakness,

Loss of appetite and Covid pneumonia!

Of course, the death rate is higher, it takes less time to get to the extreme. Sometimes no symptoms ... let's be careful ...

The strain is not domiciled in our nasopharyngeal region!
It directly affects the lungs, which means window periods are shortened.

I have seen a number of patients without fever, but an x-ray report shows moderate chest pneumonia!

The nasal swab is often negative for COVID19!

There are more and more false pharyngeal nasal tests COVID19) ... which means that the virus spreads directly to the lungs causing acute respiratory distress due to viral pneumonia! This explains why it has become acute and more fatal !!!

    Update on vaccines | Philstar.com

Moderna informed us of their willingness to deliver as soon as the US government achieves its target to have every adult American vaccinated by May 1. Currently, the American government has secured vaccine doses enough for 400 million people – which is about 70 million more than the entire number of American citizens estimated at 330 million.
We are also working closely with the COVAX Facility for the Pfizer vaccines, pushing for early deliveries as soon as possible. Hopefully, whatever legal impediments there may be will soon be resolved.
I wonder what Legal impediment is preventing Pfizer from delivering to the phil?
i had thought the government fixed all that.

Pfizer Halts Shipment of COVID Vaccines After Israel Doesn't Pay: Report

According to the Jerusalem Post, a shipment of 700,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccine was due to arrive in Israel last Sunday but was delayed indefinitely, pending payment.

The Jerusalem Post wrote that local Israeli media outlet Army Radio was circulating reports that Pfizer staff were calling the country a "banana republic," commenting on its political instability. The media outlet also reported that senior officials at Pfizer were concerned that the Israeli government — currently led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu — would not come through with payment.

I had AZ had side effects, fever got to 38.3°c but it is expected. Pero mas nauna pa maubos ang sinovac kesa astra just because it has less side effects. People chose sinovac just because of less side effects but did not consider the efficacy rate of the vaccine.
