the gov't must have been quite optimistic na tuloy tuloy ang dating ng covax shipments

Yup I think all stocks of AZ now used up. They will rely on the promise of Covax that vaccines will arrive in time for the second dose which I think they can prolong up to 3 months.

i don't know.
but from what i understand,
they're two different vaccines, working on different mechanisms.
i do not know if one vaccine's effects will benefit from or be detrimental to, the other's...
if i have to guess, one will not affect the other.

Only other viral vector vaccine to AZ is J&J vaccine. Viral vector vaccine uses a harmless virus, while Sinovac's inactivated uses a neutralized COVID virus.

Inubos na lahat ng Astra doses as 1st dose, just like what DOH said. To give partial immunity for the most number of people.
They were assured by WHO that 2nd dose supplies will arrive end of May or early June (12 weeks interval).
Expiration date ng donated Astra din is May 2021 kaya di aabot sa 2nd dose.

June/July at best dating ng Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, at ng Novavax.
Super bagal ng vaccine acquisition natin kaya nasa dulo tayo ng linya.

Natabunan question ko re AZ vaccine.

Naka store na ba 2nd dose ng AZ vax or hintayin pa dumating next shipment? If mag wait pa, and since India will keep the AZ for their country's use muna, pano na yun 2nd dose ng mga na-jab ng AZ?

Astrazeneca has vaccine manufacture in the US and South Korea, pati yata thailand and Japan mayrun. Not sure of the last two. I read in the news that some of us are getting the AZN vaccines from Southkorea.

WHO says the 2nd dose of AZN should be from 8-12 weeks after the first. DOH says 4-12. So best to have it 12 weeks after to be sure.

Yes, i think they used up all the AZN vaccine as first doses since DOH is now recommending 3 months for the next 2nd dose vaccine. DOh is praying they get AZN vaccines before the start of the 2nd dose this coming May.
