Yes & hopefully, it will just be as deadly as the common cold.

i know you're a doctor but i'd like to point out that SARS1 virus is not molecularly the same virus as SARSCOV2

actually there are other coronaviruses more closely related to SARSCOV2 than SARS1

    SARS1 came from civet cats

SARSCOV2 is more closely related to bat coronaviruses

sa phylogeny, medyo distant ang SARS1 sa SARSCOV2

Iba talaga sa heart ng NCR. Here in the suburbs, incidences are low.

Im not that kind of doctor. I have classmates in my viber group who know more about Covid than all the other Drs in the group. But thanks for this piece of useful info. It got to the point that talking & hearing about Covid daily for more than a year gets a bit too tiresome so I just listen to whatever the real experts advise us, like what vaccine is the best & when the best time to take it is.

Yung mga nacovid na kilala ko in the past 2 weeks mga nasa US at buong household talaga sila, except for an Uncle who died from PH

Kaya I'm avoiding going out again

New vaccine resistant variants are just around the corner...

The strain — called B.1.525 — has been spotted 33 times already but experts say this could be a huge underestimate. It shares the E484K mutation found on both the South African and Brazilian variants, which make the current crop of jabs slightly less effective.

The variant also carries the Q677H mutation on its crucial spike protein, prompting warnings from scientists that this could make it even more resistant to vaccines. And there are some similarities to the Kent strain, which studies show is up to 70 per cent more infectious.

The B.1.525 variant was first detected in Britain in mid-December — but this doesn't mean it evolved here. The UK does far more sequencing than other countries.

It has been linked to travel to Nigeria, where 12 out of 51 virus samples analysed — or 24 per cent — were the new variant. For comparison, the UK has only found it in 33 of 70,000 genomes sequenced, or less than 0.4 per cent.

The strain has already spread to 11 countries including the US, Canada and Denmark, which are not on the UK's 'red list'.

With regards to the Pfizer vaccine, it says that you need a special syringe to extract the maximum 6 doses in one vial.

Syringe shortage hampers Japan's COVID-19 vaccination roll out

Hoping the DOH get well informed on this.

But lumalabas iisa symptoms ng mRNA vaccines.

    i wonder,
is pfizer selling its vials as a 5-dose vial, or as a 6-dose vial?

I think Pfizer sell it by vials. standard 5 dose vials but can be stretched to 6 doses with the use of Low dead space syringes. It was only a few weeks into the vaccine program that they noticed the vials can be stretched to 6 doses.
so IF the supposedly 117,000 doses from pfizer that will arrive this month will come from 23,400 vials. So if they use the low dead space syringe they could stretch the doses to 140,400 doses.

Naku ganyan talaga gobyerno natin, Yung downpayment madali dapat ayusin yun pero ang tagal mag descision. Takot or naghahanap ano maitatago sa provisions. hehe
