Para sa mga battery concerns nyo mga sir.
Pwede naman gumamit ng conventional battery, pero hindi na gagana ang iStop.
1) Is the construction of Q85/T110 battery for i-stop system the same as for
conventional battery?
Compared with the conventional battery, required amount of charging and discharging for i-stop system battery is significantly higher because the engine is cranked frequently and electric power is supplied to the vehicle electrical systems only from the battery during the engine is stopped by i-stop system. In addition, after the engine is re-started, the battery must be re-charged quickly.
For these reasons, compared with the conventional battery, i-stop system battery requires higher durability against frequent charging/discharging and charging acceptability. To achieve these performances, the number of battery plates is increased and the material is changed.
On the other hand, dendrite short is more likely to occur due to smaller gap between
battery plates and occurrence of sulfation generated during battery.
When a vehicle equipped with i-stop system stops at a red light, engine is stopped for fuel economy improvement. When the vehicle starts to drive again, the engine restarts. So, battery discharging and charging are repeated in a short period of time.
Also, during i-stop operation, as electric power for air conditioning and audio systems etc. is supplied from the battery only, discharging occurs more than on vehicles without i-stop system.
If a battery other than the specifically designed for i-stop is used instead, its lifecycle may be reduced or it may disable i-stop function.

July 17th, 2013 12:14 PM #888Hmmm.... that seems to be a hassle...
I wouldn't mind not being able to use Istop...
If I do get the CX5, I intent to turn of Istop all the time...
As good as this technologly is... I still don't think its as reliable as they say.... for now that is ....
*c_cube - how did you contact berjaya technical? is it their local mazda fb account?
if a local battery will just make istop deactivate... okay na yun....

yesterday im talking thru phone with an agent. then i asked regarding the battery, she said that technical from berjaya is there conducting training (i think) then she asked them personally and that was the feedback given.
i think this agent is reliable because she dont answer randomly if she's not sure. she also informed me that the AWD is on demand only not the other agent i talked with saying it's all the time.

July 17th, 2013 12:49 PM #890Hi,
I'm contemplating to trade my City to either CX-5 2.0 AT or Montero GLX 2.5 AT. My primary reason for converting are
1. City is too lowered for our community. Humps in our place are to high.
2. I need a bigger compartment space to accommodate delivery boxes for my business
The new headturner looks and size of CX-5 is exactly what I wanted for an SUV. I'm also thinking since it's more subcompact I won't have so much adjustments driving and parking it. I'm not an expert driver. However for a cheaper value, I can already get a Montero which becomes cheaper because of its diesel engine. It will also fit more delivery boxes which I will be having more often when stocks for my shops arrive. How many balikbayan boxes do you think CX-5 can accommodate? Hope you guys can help me.
A 70/30 water to coolant mix may improve cooling efficiency but that's at the cost of less...
Coolant...
