Blower stays on using power from the capacitor I guess. If interior temp goes below the set temp on the climate control the engine will restart.

In a tropical country like here, there will be few instances for such feature to be of use.

When I was buying CX-5, i had an option to either buy a unit without i-stop and with i-stop. The 2.0 version and the 2.0 Pro version differ by around 100k after discounts back then. Which made me go for the non-pro version. Now, with the price of battery, I do not think the savings you get from I-stop can justify the cost.

Granting both units cost the same, do you think the cost of gas consumed by idle would be equal that of the battery of istop?

My Cx-5 non-pro averages around 9.5 to 10km/l with heavy edsa and makati traffic during weekdays.

I computed this before and as long as the CX-5 Pro is 6% more efficient than the non-Pro, it should breakeven.

For those still thinking if they should buy one, apart from skyactive and other tech stuff, yojin 3 and 100,000km warranty and the very good looks, consider as well that the unit is Japan CBU. Japanese are very meticulous with quality and if you get to work with Japanese, you would really know how much it means to them to the point that you would go crazy with the level of precision they require.

Which is why over the course of a 70 pages here, i think I haven't read any question about a mechanical problem due to improper QA compared to other cars in this forum. I might be wrong and missed a couple but generally, there are no complaints.

That is, for me, a big consideration why you should buy this car.

Do all CX-5 units have the i-Stop/i-Eloop feature? May specific battery kasi for this kaya daw mahal. Pero kung totoo ngang 5K lang yan, pabili ako ng 2 hahaha :-D

I did ask about the i-Stop battery and that is what they told me. I was also hesitant to get the CX-5 at first kasi mahal yung battery according to this forum. That is why I clarified it with my SA and he told me na 5k nga lang daw. As far as I know, all 2014 FWD models have the i-Stop. I'm not sure about the AWD if it also has it.

Mazda Davao is under Autohub group. Make sure it's really 5T, a lot of SAs are not well informed.

Sorry boss. I'm not really sure which group it belongs. It's just a wild guess. Anyway, here's what happened. I asked the SA how much is the battery and he directly asked their Sales Manager about it so his information came from the manager itself. I think that's pretty reliable.

Agree, a lot of SA's just don't know. At first the SA at Mazda Greenhills said 30k. Even the parts supervisor of Mazda Greenhills does not know the price -- dahil wala pa namang nagpapalit ng baterya ng CX-5 I-istop.

Hintay na lang tayo may magpalit ng baterya at i-report ang presyo dito sa forum.

Im sorry sir but i believe you're misinformed. Better asked the service advisor for that, some sales personnel are not well knowledgeable on that part. Before, I asked 3 different casas (makati, q.ave, and greenhills), all answered "local battery won't work" and the prices was 13-15k as far as i remember.

Even checking online, the battery for cx5 with istop is different against the conventional battery.

BUT.. I read that if you installed an ordinary battery, only the istop system shall not work . (not sure of this) and if this 5k cost of battery is accurate, well im not complaining haha

Autohub and Berjaya are two different entities. Much like how Jollibee Corp is different from its host of franchisees.

Anyway, all CX-5's now have i-stop, so I'm sure the battery will not cost only 5k. Mahal nga yung battery pero wala ka naman babayaran sa maintenance. Also, if you back read a little bit more, I remember someone posting na as long as the i-stop will give you 10% (not sure about the figure) better fuel economy, then you can already recoup the cost of the battery from your fuel cost savings.

Also, while yes you can install an ordinary battery, who knows what complications this might give your P1.5M toy? :D

Went to mazda alabang yesterday, I asked the SA about the battery cost. He told me that Motollite already has a battery for CX-5... But he cannot give me an exact price.

Sa mga users ng CX-5, how's your FC so far? TIA

    Batter as deal-breaker?.... Oh well....

You can disable i-stop and so, I think, there is no need for an i-stop (start-stop) battery....

Sayang naman kung di mo gagamitin yung istop feature, eh bayad na yon. Kaya nga tumaas presyo kasi may istop di ba?

Thinking about selling my rims, barely 6 months used, tires not included. No gutter marks no scratches as far as i know. PM me if interested.

Tire spec being used is 255/45/20
    20" offset 45
