Hassle nga talaga sa cleaning. Buti naayos na nung huling nagservice sa kin un tulo, inayos un pagkaka anggulo ng drain. Complete pull down ng indoor unit ang pinagawa ko, 9yrs old na kasi un carrier. Ayun balik sa parang brand new naman un performance, 5k nga lang bayad.
Ok lang na ganun kasi un regular cleaning naman ako na ang gumagawa. Madami din pinakita sa kin na maling ginawa nung installer. Kaya tingin ko sulit naman un 5k

We also want to get an inverter type as our next ac as we've heard nothing but positive things about it from consumers. However every technician (Carrier) we've had over to clean our non-inverter split types have advised us against it. Mas mahal daw irepair kung masira daw unlike the non-inverter split types. Kung di rin daw tama ang horsepower na mabili mo, di ka rin daw makakasave porket inverter (duh? Hehe). I don't know if they only said that kasi baka mabawasan sila ng work dahil di naman sirain ang inverter.[emoji2369]

I noticed some technicians and salesmen are a bit OA in my opinion when it comes to HP needed. Before I bought our AC the salesman asked for our floor area. He then said I needed a 1.5HP (which is the one I had in mind of getting), but suggested a 2HP to be safe. I thought it was overkill (and overbudget too). He said technicians may refuse to install and may void the warranty if they deem the area too big. I said, "eh di antayin na lang natin kung ayaw, isoli ko for a refund". He also suggested I a 2HP but non-inverter type, mas mabilis daw lumamig para tipid, which I refused as I felt he was pushing old, inefficient and likely non-selling items.
When the technicians came they also began measuring the floor area, and also warned me that I was I at their boundary (only less than 2sqm from their max limit). But they installed anyway. In reality, the room is now quite cold even when the AC is set at 24C.
Naku yan din ang sinabi sakin.. Ma-void daw ang warranty if mag-install ako ng lower HP sa recommended nila.. Not sure kung naloko na naman ako.. Hahahahahaha [emoji23] hirap talaga kapag walang alam.. 2.5HP tuloy nabili ko..
Napa-check ako photos.. 2 years na pala.. April 18, 2018 ko nabili.. from window-type nag-split-type inverter kami.. based sa electric bill namin, after 2 years balik puhunan na.. Pero di pa bawi.. From almost Php 10k na 12 hours lang ang gamit sa window type.. Php 2.5-4.5K na lang ang bill namin na 21 hours or minsan walang patayan tapos buong bahay na pwera kusina (buti na lang maliit din bahay namin [emoji28])..![]()
For inverter, get the next higher available. The first 1-2 hours is not different from regular vs inverter aircon. Its on the 3rd hour you start getting the savings.
The faster the room cools, the faster you benefit from the inverter kasi maintenance of temperature na lang ang running cost nya which only uses about 30-40% electricity.

You also have to consider the heat sources in the room that the AC will cool. Window facing west? Kitchen with stove and fridge? Hyperactive kids? They all add up. An inverter does not make sense if the compressor is always maxed out.

Ang dapat linisin sa AC ay yung evaporator at condenser radiator, thru pressurised water pump.

i agree.
pressurized water is the better choice for AC coil cleaner.
some products work thru acid, which can eat thru already-thin segments of the metal coils, resulting to holes.
the same with alkaline-based cleaners.
but because they are convenient to use, compared to the alternative, they tend to be popular.

Just clean with water from not so loud pressure that could damage the alum fins. Don't use cleaners or lye to clean the molds, bilad lang sa araw.
As for the inverters ang unang bumibigay ay mainboard since DC switching power supply ang gamit to turn DC motors, parang PS ng computer at LED TV's. Ang nirerecommend nila yung Daikin na designed ang inverter sa wide input voltage parang up to 90 to 450V at surge na 650V AC?
Kung patibayan lang, mas matibay ang traditional mechanical thermostat, ang panira lang talaga ay electronics at sensors.
Oversizing by 150% is fine di bale sobra wag kulang dahil na overwork ang compressor. Wag din babad sa aircon na sarado bintana baka ma CO2 poisoning po, at matutuyo lalamunan nyo at uubuhin prang symptom ng COVID19.
Maganda din palang panglinis ang fabcon sa evaporator. Nakita kong ginamit nung nagpapull down ako ng indoor unit

How about Matrix brand? Any reviews? They’re relatively cheaper than the other brands.
Plan to put a 2.5 split type for the house. It’s an open type living, dining, & kitchen. Sqm is a bit over the required area. I saw that max for a 3.5hp is 43sqm. I measured the whole area & it’s around 48sqm. I haven’t subtracted the cabinets of the kitchen yet though. Would that be ok? I’ll probably just use electric fans to compensate if it’s not cool enough?
the compressor will never even reach 10-50% regulation during the day time. regulating that 20C will be difficult. is the ceiling insulated? using fans do not drop the temps. the AC will still try to reach the target temps, this means the compressor will run more than 50% (power consumption of almost 1500w? guesstimation lng)
no name brands might not have spare parts readily available though these won't fail that fast.
Thanks! So compressor will be just be worked out 50% max? Then it won't be too burdened then? Plan to just set temp 24-25C. I think our ceiling is sort of insulated because we made another ceiling before without taking out the old one. Really tempted with the Matrix brand because it's cheaper. Around P35k compared to around P50k for the branded ones. But yeah worried about the spare parts nga. So what brands should I stock too?
