Split Type Aircon: Which is best?

wag kayo gagamit ng EXACT size inverter AC. baka full load lagi compressor, sayang lang. ideally oversize dapat by .5 to 1hp. bibilis sya palamig then yung pag maintain ng temp nasa 20-50% lang ng compressor magagamit.
case in point my room is about 10 sq mtr only, used to pay 4-5k using .75 hp panasonic non-inverter; replaced it with 1hp fujidenzo inverter, immediately went down to below 3k average (went as low as 2.4k pa nga eh). upgraded to 1.5hp kolin inverter, average is now in low 2k, plus 14-20 hour average (iba sked namin ni gf minsan) and 24/7 pa during weekends vs 10 -14 hours noon non inverter pa ang gamit.
i cant use current reading as a benchmark kasi sobrang baba na dahil bihira kami nasa bahay recently, so sobrang baba na talaga.

Agree. A 0.8 hp will work in my room but I'm getting 1 hp. A 1.5 hp will work in my living toom but I'm getting 2 hp.

Medyo masakit yung 1.5 to 2 hp because there's 10k difference between the two (since it's really closer to 1.33 hp than 1.5) but in the long run it's better in terms of consumption.

What's the lowest hp of inverter-type ac? I always see 1hp pero parang too much for a small bedroom na almost as big as a queen-sized bed lang.

Panasonic and LG have 0.5 and 0.75 HP models afaik.
May need pa naman mga <1HP AC models esp sa mga maliliit na rooms mas lalo sa mga condo. We had a 0.5HP for a 6 sqm bedroom sa condo and worked great.[emoji16]

When computing for aircon size, consider all heat generators in the room - kitchen appliances (ref, stove, etc), TV, ambient sunlight from wall-to-ceiling windows or sliding doors, and of course extra people.

isa pa yan bro na winawalambahala ng mga nagbebenta ng AC sa ibang stores. pag na assess nila na .5hp AC lang kaya bilhin ng buyer, bebentahan parin knowing that it wont be enough for a 15 sq meter room with all family members in the same room. pag madalas ka dumadaan sa mga stores na ito, makaka tyempo ka talaga ng "sales talk" LOL

Collateral damage from maintenance, leaks, repeated repairs, replacement (the chipping, masonry work, paintwork, floor & wall rehab, etc) can consume patience & tolerance. They downgrade to the real 'upgrade' of simplicity & practicality...the window.[emoji4]

Basta ako personal experience ko mas okay split type. We used to be all window-type before. Ngayon isa nalang yung window type namin, nasira pa. So now I have to buy 3 aircons instead of just 2. [emoji23]

Super mas tahimik when I switched from window to split. Also the aesthetics of the room, sobrang mas malinis tingnan.

Never naging bothersome for me maintenance. Tagal na rin naming naka-split type sa bahay and never ko naexperience yung mga hassle na sinasabi dito. Kaya nga kung first-hand experience ang best basis, ok na ok ako sa split type.

They both have pros and cons. For me, split type is for aesthetics. It's just weird that before my split type would leak every six months while I never had a problem with window type even if I don't have it cleaned for years. What I don't like about window type is the hole in the wall (which is minor).

There's no fun in fixing flaws caused by those outside our coverage. Hence, we try to provide detailed guidelines for the AC guys to comply w/ on new installs....to prevent split-trauma, sir.

Nah, I just shared the pros, cons & measures needed. We even specify a minimum of 1.25" PPR drain, not blue. Splits are ideally installed along perimeter walls, where possible, to avoid lines running thru ceilings. If unavoidable, the insulated lines must be laid on gutter trays or thru pipes...I can go on & on.
Though I find joy in those of others, leak therapy isn't fun. Leaks can leave indelible scars, literally & figuratively.[emoji17]
Please don't get me wrong...I'm not anti-anything here. Just sharing to help prevent splitphobia.
