Not necessarily dahil sa data. Apple, google also collects vast amount of data yet their phones are not cheap.

I think it was part of xiaomi's plan to market cheaper devices to establish their brand. But they will eventually move into the premium phone market

There's a reason why something is cheap or free.

Nasa iyo lang yan how comfortable are you with big companies using your data.

If may bayad and ad-free Facebook, magbabayad ka ba? Naka-YouTube Premium ka ba?

There was an article na ang BOM (bill of materials) ng Note 20 is only $549...

IMO, A lot of low-end Chinese phones do not bring anything new to the table.

XX MP Camera - same used as XXX phone
XX Processor - same used as XXX phone

Bale yung bagong tech is ginamit nila sa higher end phone nila, tapos once the combination is proven to work at mas mura na sa market yung parts, dinadala nila sa low-end phones nila.

    Thanks! TIL.

Matindi nga ang Xiaomi. By default, ultimo notification screens ng OS may ads pa rin na pop up.
It's like the entire OS is powered by ads.

I use xiaomi mobile devices with zero adds

    Tools i used.
    1. Xiaomiadbfastboottools to debloat miui
    2. Netguard to block internet access for apps that don't need it. Used the dns blacklist feature to block dns requests to ad servers
    3. Adjusted some privacy settings

The first tool looks interesting. Thanks for this.
Netguard I think is the same as Blokada?

Haven't used blokada but it My understanding is that that it blocks ads via a dns blacklist. While netguard is primarily app firewall that also implements a dns blacklist. You need to download netguard from github though for the dns blacklist feature as google play store won't allow the feature in their play store as per the developer.

You can also use dns blocklist services like nextdns if you prefer not to install anything on your device. Just let your device use their dns servers. If you are techie, setup up and use pi-hole

Hope the 256gb ipad air isnt too expensive. Been eyeing a pro for a while for illustration purposes but might go for the air if it saves me lotsa dough

$750 for the Air 256GB so around 40k when it comes out here. Good price IMO, same with the $600 64GB which will retail around 33k.

I have a 128GB iPad now and haven't really needed all the space since everything is just on Netflix these days. But maybe for content creation use, sulit yung step up to the 256GB.

Tried using my iPad as laptop replacement for editing photos - mas madali pa rin talaga with a laptop and using an iPad for editing is just as clunky/awkward as using my phone. So for travels, editing RAWs on my phone is still the most portable option.

Careful with the IOS14 upgrade guys. BDO app does not work anymore and being flagged as a potential risk. Bdo.com.ph still works through browser though. Hassle lang.

Ang weird ng bdo app. I think its end-to-end encryption has bugs.
