Yes if you plan to keep your phone for a while.

If you want a good camera, from my experience ah, super layo ng usability and quality ng iPhone vs the cheapo China phones.

Same with RAM - iPhones just last longer before feeling sluggish simply because iOS’ ecosystem is more streamlined and controlled.

My general take is if you change phones every 2 yrs or less, a flagship Android is always the cutting edge of tech. If you want to keep your phone for a bit longer, an iPhone is your best bet.

    Agree... ako syo.

Plan to use the phone for more than 4 years -> iPhone
4 years -> Pixel and some Samsung and OnePlus devices (3 major updates + 1 year security update)

Anything else, replace in 2 years!

Apple just announced that the iPhone 6S will get iOS 15, imagine a 6 year old phone will still get Apple's newest OS!

Yes, updates are an apple advantage, that is as long your device can handle the heavier resource requirements.

the "Apple" device will be able to handle the upgrade

You only feel your current device is slower if you start playing with a new device.

We can't expect an iPhone X to be as fluid as an iPhone 12, technology will just not allow it.

I gave my oneplus 6 to my wife because I've upgraded to mi 9t pro. My wife's oneplus 6, a 3 years old phone Is still getting updates, she is on May 2021 security patch. My newer Xiaomi phone is stuck in January 2021 security patch.

You are right, these cheap Chinese phones are for 1 to 2 years lang. Mas mahal nga yung oneplus vs Xiaomi phones specs to specs pero what I didn't see eh yung years of support.

Not only Chinese phones. Yung Asus ko (presently with my mom) tumigil ang update on the 18th month!

Observation with iphones. After a year or so, mabilis ma drain ang battery. It usually lasts a day kahit di ko ginagamit.

Curious if others have the same observation.

Never resist temptation for it may never come again

yung iPhone 6 ko dati, after the iOS 12 (or is it 13, I forgot hehe) upgrade nag deteriorate ang battery. then after 2 weeks eh hindi na halos magamit, dapat naka saksak charger palagi. almost 2 years pa lang yun. yung sa officemate ko eh less than 2 yrs din nag palit na sya ng battery. after nun, hindi na ako nag iPhone, kasi ayaw ko na din gumastos ng more than 15k for a phone hehe.

Anyone using oneplus nord ce? I'm interested on the 12gb ram model for just 20k. It seems what I'm looking for. The processor is not top of the line which is OK since I don't play games. It's amoled.

I also like how oxygen os almost bloatware free. But that's from my previous phone oneplus 6, I wonder how oxygen os is now.

My current phone ram is 6gb and I hate it when multi tasking and needs to switch between apps that some apps will close because it was unloaded from ram. Now these 12gb might solve that.

OnePlus admits to throttling 300 popular apps with recent update | Ars Technica

"It's pretty troubling that the company decided to lower the device performance after the phone was released and reviewed by most outlets. Now customers aren't getting what they were expecting. This isn't just minor tweaking either. AnandTech's article shows some Chrome tests turning in numbers that are 85-75 percent lower than they should be. It's hard to imagine any user wanting their web browser to be dramatically slower, but any weird power-management tricks from OEMs like this should always be behind a checkbox—users should be able to control the devices they purchased."

My son currently has a Galaxy A30 which is due for replacement.

What do you think of the Galaxy A42 5G?

At face value, the only downgrade would be the screen resolution (from 1080p to 720p).

Decided to go with the OnePlus Nord CE 5G (8GB). I snatched one while it was 15,790 on Lazada.

    Birthday gift for my son.

It would have been better if they let the users decide which apps they want throttled and which app to run on all cores..
There apps like this tsikot app that I don't need using all cores and draining battery. There are apps like games that I need all the cores to be utilized.
