Phone cameras have come a long way. I took these shots, one with a Note 10, the other with a Canon M100 + 24-105 F4L IS USM.

Bottom pic is with the mirrorless camera, top pic is with the Note. Phone cameras have gone a long way indeed.

Surprising. Likely won't need to buy a camera kung ganiyan. Just need an new phone extra battery bank and a microsd card...
...hard to compare.
i have seen pictures that, when enlarged, showed their superiority. the sharpness actually improved.
A good phone camera will be enough for about 80% of pictures. But that last 20% is where having a full-frame SLR or mirroless shines.
There are some photos that I still wouldn't have been able to take with a phone, such as this:
Night photos of moving subjects with bokeh are another. Phones now have crazy good night modes but need you to stay still for a long time.
Portrait mode (fake bokeh) is also something I sparingly use on my phone since the bokeh doesn't look as natural as in a full frame camera with high aperture lens.If you need large-scale prints of your photos, definitely an SLR with proper lighting and post-processing is necessary.
If you just want to take pictures as memories to post on social media or share with friends, most of the time phone photos are already really good.

My personal take on camera vs smartphone
Kung masaya ka sa kuha ng gamit mo (either phone or camera)
If you cannot see the difference
And di naman magbabago kita mo or profession mo because of your photos...
Be happy with what you have
best way to appreciate the difference between a full size camera and a smartphone is when cropping up the original image. Maraming loss makikita sa smartphone...

Pero wala na ako nakikita nagdadala ng napakabigat na camera ngayon unlike is the recent past lahat ng tao meron dalang dslr kahit sa mall lang ang punta.

Sony's move to the 21:9 cinemawide aspect ratio made their "compact" flagships tall and narrow, I guess our options are limited to the 5.8 inch iPhone and the Galaxy S10e, ang laki na din ng base S20.
Curious on Sony's take on Motion Blur Reduction which claims to reduce blur similar to a native 90Hz screen, di siya deal breaker sakin since it eats up to 20% of battery accdng to PhoneArena, then sa Homescreen and App drawer lang laging active ang high refresh rate.
I wish flagships today still have user replaceable batteries para swap lang ng swap, hirap magtravel ng naka hook up sa powerbank tapos nag iinit pa. [emoji28]
Check out GadgetMatch's article, someone used a Pixel 4 XL for a prenup shoot, ang galing talaga ng computational photography, accurate edge detection for fake bokeh even in lowlight.
I still bring my mirrorless camera with me, kaso di din flexible since I only bring one portrait lens, a smartphone with a good set of versatile cameras (zoom, normal, ultrawide) would be a good backup.

Medyo nalalakihan na kasi ako sa Note9. Just wanted to try the Note experience and it was okay. Useful naman talaga for notetaking and the camera is somewhat better than my previous S9.
Siguro size ng S9 pero full screen na waterfall with punch hole selfie cam would be the ideal size for me. Note 10 size more like of nga. Hehe
Next time.

Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!
Yesterday ako kumuha ng group pic nila misis. I was given 4 phones. 2 of them oppo and 1 huawei. Android “tab fones”. Kay misis lang ang iphone 8 plus. Napansin ko lang yun cam ng iphone ni misis kaya kahit “wide” na yun image. Unlike sa android phones, i need to step back para to accomodate yun mga nasa gilid. Hindi ko sure kung nasa settings lang ng iphone yun.
