actually, their business model is flawed. matagal nang nakita ni google yung potential ng internet, hindi sila naniwala dun. of course, they want to protect their bread and butter (windows, office)

Youtube videos can be downloaded sa IPad /IPhone for offline viewing. YouTube HD is the future of video not blueray nor the video format in *******s.

******* / soundcloud and anything similar is the future of audio.

apple ICloud and MS Skydrive will be the future in cloud documents like office docs.

apple Photo Stream and Windows Live Photo will be the future in online photo storage (cloud storage). google has only beta picasa.

I have started digitally living like that. I rarely use my laptops anymore.

In the future everything will be in the cloud, and the best cloud client - MS and Apple. Google can't even give more than 25 Gb free space kasi nga ads business sya eh. Plus it's hardware can't support coz Google uses old computers as servers. Kuripot si google, she is the number 1 buyer of used servers sa Mundo

OB, kamusta naman broadband access mo? Many still don't have access to broadband internet alone, how long do you expect someone have to wait to stream an HD video?

Ever heard of the term Disaster Recovery Plan? Google is not that stupid not to have backups.
It doesn't matter how old the machines they use, as long as they can maintain an acceptable % reliability, unless their whole server farm will be wiped out entirely.

they don't need to, actually. google employs a distributed architecture in their system, like hosting their servers across the globe. makes their infrastructure resilient with no single point of failure

BTT: bagsak presyo na ang ip4s sa globe

sakto talaga sa kamay ang s3

Yeah those farms are housed in big real estate warehouses. Mas delikado nga yun 100 computers minor servers vs. 2 high end servers. Sa real estate at maintenance ng space, Mas madali itago ang servers ng MS and apple. US military nga napilitan magdedidcate ng bantay solely for those google farms, kase andale makita at matarget sa satellite. Pag mini-ssile yan ng terrorist, ano na? Eh di crippled kagad ang 30-40% ng data and network dependency ng mundo.

personally, I don't like Google's cheapskate attitude. Dbale mas ok na ang bing eh, it won't be long. ang tindi ng search algo ng bing, parang AI.

how long will it take you to upload 1tb of files? baka 1mb lang kasi files mo kaya ok lang sayo sa cloud yan. i dont need a canon to kill a fly, storing files in external drives is still the cheapest and easiest way to save and retrieve them.

toothpick nga nandiyan parin since stoneage maskina meron ng portable electronic toothbrush, why? because it's cheap and it's simple but it gets the job done
