Anything under the sun talaga usapan, so I'll pitch in my 2 sentimo's worth of opinion na rin:

In our 3rd world country, the occasional brownout is just something you have to live with. Kaya not advisable daw bumili ng mga frost free units. The ice in the freezer will buy you additional time against spoilage in case daw prolonged yung brownout.
I'm not sure kung totoo, but it seems like a sound idea naman.

Sa FB daming bumibili pero junk price, expect something around 200 kesos for your ref. Like the doc says, there's no need for you to pay someone to discard it.

Also nakakasikip sa space ng kusina. Unless kung merong "karinderya" business or selling frozen goods suited yang chest freezer.

Here are my choices. It's limited because it has to fit the area �� I don't want bottom freezer anymore. Yung 15.1 almost same model pero nagtataka ako bakit malaki price difference

I called Anson's Cash and Carry and they gave me the GRC 422SLCN for P27k! Cash price - bank transfer I asked if that is sagad na and the sales person said yes pero after I got the details, I said give me until end of day because I will call Western. Natawa siya and said sige po then call him again. So that means kaya pang ibaba!!! Kaya lang I called Western P31k price nila!

I remember tsikoteer's saying something like may sales guys sa Anson's na they give lower price if you call them directly? I want to get the best bargain because I will surprise my Mom and pay for it na lang She gave me a nice birthday present

bigla nga ko nag dalawang isip kasi gusto ko umabot ng 10 yrs yung ref hahaha. We bought it 2012 kasi.

We have a relative na sobra kuripot. Imbes na ipakilo yung lumang ref, ginawang aparador/toolbox dun sa garahe nila.

My Mom is thinking of doing something similar! LOL! Ilagay sa dirty kitchen para storage. Tinanggal na nga lumang ref sa dirty kitchen, maglalagay pa siya ulit. Saka nakakatakot baka pagtaguan ng ahas or whatever creature.
