Anything under the sun talaga usapan, so I'll pitch in my 2 sentimo's worth of opinion na rin:

In our 3rd world country, the occasional brownout is just something you have to live with. Kaya not advisable daw bumili ng mga frost free units. The ice in the freezer will buy you additional time against spoilage in case daw prolonged yung brownout.
I'm not sure kung totoo, but it seems like a sound idea naman.

Ayaw namin nung mga chest freezer... parang may kabaong sa kusina (I think we've watched too many horror movies)
