How about graphics? Gumagamit kasi daughter ng shotcut pang edit ng video na isesend sa teacher. So I think hindi naman heavy editing yun. Yung kasing current laptop nya eh low specs at walang video card sa hindi kaya video editing.

I'm a firm believer that laptops should be as light and portable as possible especially for students or anyone who's always mobile. So I'm a big ultrabook fan.
Best to have a strong quad-core processor + 16GB RAM for video editing work.

Ryzen 7 is more than enough for students..try the ryzen 5 4500 at P27thou before
Intel uses 14nm processor so it will run hotter than an AMD processor..additionally, it will drain the battery faster than the 7nm of AMD

November 13th, 2020 05:45 PM #550When I was in college I had an old Lenovo Core 2 Duo laptop that I had since high school while everyone else had i5 Macbook Pros and Macbook Airs. By the time I was in 4th year hirap na magedit videos on my laptop (tagal magexport) vs the Macbooks of my peers.
Paid it forward nalang by gifting my sister a Macbook Pro when she went to college.

Sa Apple, even if 2-3 Generations behind yung MacOS version mo, useable pa din yung device

For the most part, the OS doesn't matter much. They will use tools they are familiar with and are effective at. It is the app where their expertise lies in is what's relevant (ie. Avid, APP, Davinci, or FCP).
I've been using Windows 7/8/10 + Sony/MAGIX Vegas Pro for around a decade. If any, things have gotten better in recent years.
