Buti lang I bought XP when its just below 3K....actually its an upgrade version, needing Win98/95 CD if you have to reinstall again.
Actually, I bought mine's for 8k (back in 2001 when I just graduated Elementary).

It included Service Pack 1 already so medyo not bad.

As for the registration, you can also do it via internet. May parang "Activate Windows" tapos if you have an internet connection, i-veverify nalang niya through there then you're done.

EDIT: What I really find surprising about this whole anti-piracy operation was that it involves HOME USERS (when nakastate lang sa mga dyaryo ay huhulihin lang nila yung mga Business operators o mga for "corporate use").

They never mentioned in the newspapers nor even at BSA Philippines' homepage that home users will be included in the raids.

Even if the unit I'm using has original Win XP Pro OS, my parents nor anyone in the house would allow these operatives to do a search without a Formal Search Warrant.

Anyways, meron na bang bagong balita/kaganapan ng mga raids sa mga home users?
