If you will notice it, most everyday Filipinos are NUMB about software piracy.... meaning "most" people do not really care whether their neighbors are using counterfeit Windows XP or counterfeit video games in their homes. This is because they are not really affected whether a neighbor uses counterfeit or licensed software. So for practical purposes, the reaction cannot be compared if say, you discovered your neighbor has a jumper wire and pilfering electricity and he has his aircon turned on 24 hours a day.

Most people who support this software crackdown are those people engaged in software business like internet rental shops and legitimate software resellers. Again, as posted by someone earlier, it is cheating. So they are outraged by someone who is cheating their profits. That's an understandable outrage. And I symphatize with them.

But like anyone else in the private home sector (except for the truly-law abiding ones who are willing to cast the first stone), I don't give an etchas about buying pirated Windows XP!
