    Medieval II: Total War
    Homeworld 2
Close Combat 2: A bridge Too Far
    Combat Flight Simulator 2
    Woohoo! Yeah!
Save for NWN2, Oblivion, and CoH, we've got exactly the same list of games! Hahahah.

By the way, since IL2-FB works, I'll assume that IL2:1946 will also work without problems.

I'm considering replacing my XP with W7-64bit during the Christmas break.

Those specs should be fine. Me? I play Flight Simulator X. It could eat up 1.5gb of ram in a snap. Even the more "efficient" X-Plane 9 ate up 1.36gb of ram.

I think both flight sims store textures in ram which naturally increase the longer one is "flying". I tested it with X-Plane 9. Around 30 minutes out, the total ram used by Windows 7 64-bit went up to 3.2gb.

    Some niggles.......

I can't patch Pacific Fighters/Forgotten Battles and Rome: Total War. It's not a big deal with Forgotten Battles and Rome:Total War.

But, I can't get the Kawasaki Ki-100 in Pacific Fighters which is installed via one of the patches.

Guys quick question. I just finished downloading [Microsoft Windows 7 Version 6.1 Build 7600 (32Bit) Retail (ENG) [h33t] [blaze69]]

Wala na pala ako blank DVD dito, so I tried mounting it muna. Hindi pwede, dun sa expanding windows files parang di na tumuloy. May nag-try na ba sa inyo mag-mount but had success in installing? Or dapat talaga i-burn?

I just burned my copy of Win7 to a blank DVD before installing. Makes my life a whole lot simpler.

My version is MS Windows 7 Ultimate (retail version). I don't have the build version because I left my netbook at home today.

Depends. The one I have had it's cdkey request portion removed. So it's smooth sailing right through the entire install. I just need to close a DOS box which opens up during the serial number request portion of the install.

Best to check what other people (at the download site) remark about your particular copy.

I tested Flight Simulator X while "flying" around Tasmania (modded with Orbx scenery freeware scenery demo). The total ram usage I saw was 2.89gb.

MY guess is FSX recalculates the textures for new locations on the fly, keeping ram usage steady.

X-Plane 9 draws upon stored uncompressed textures which is stored in RAM and increases the farther out I am from the starting point. I'm betting if I flew far enough, I'd run out of RAM even with 8gb.

Finally got W7 64bit up and running on my rig over the weekend.
IL2-1946 runs flawlessly. (NOTE: I didn't re-install... I forgot to unintall my previous copy before installing W7. Out of curiousity, I ran IL2FB.exe and it started without hiccups.)

Forgotten Battles itself runs ok. But, I can't patch it. That along with Pacific Fighters.

I'll end up buying IL-2: 1946 instead. You can't go wrong with it at a price of $9.99.

i have a question, ano magandang anti-virus for windows 7? i'm using avast pro dito sa windows xp ko. pwede kaya ito sa windows 7? i plan on upgrading sa bakasyon para mahaba ang time ko.

also worries me on windows 7 is that yun production system namin uses visal foxpro. iniisip ko kung magkakaroon ng compatibility issues yun pagdating sa windows 7, or simply, pwede ba siya sa windows 7?

If a program suddenly won't work after upgrading to Windows 7, simply right-click it's shortcut and select compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3 - seriously works compared as to how it worked in the past.

Ganito lang ginagawa ko sa mga decade old programs ko na naka-install pa and old drivers din (TV Tuner na 90's ko pa nabili) and it still works on Windows 7.

Big increase in system response from Vista to 7 IMO, and as proof, our company migrated our workstations na from XP to 7 and our laptop's here at home have also been upgrade from Vista to 7 respectively. Just my .02.

Really, for once Microsoft did it right. lol

ADD: battery life is longer in 7 compared to Vista. My 4736Z Acer used to just run on 3 hours tops sa Vista, while in 7 it can run up to 4 hours even with the slideshow running in the background.

I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials. Nifty freeware from Microsoft that offers good detection, real-time protection and is very, very light on resources.

If you want even better detection rates though, you could try Avira AntiVir 9.
