Final tally on installed games/software from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 7.....
13 games (so far) work
All my apps work (so far) including Paintshop Pro 8, MS Office Enterprise 2007, Power Director 3, Ulead Video Studio 11, and Pinnacle's Mobile Media Converter.
3 games (so far) didn't make the cut.
Seems like a good transition (so far). Not perfect but better than I thought.
Cross my fingers and hope there's less incompatibilities waiting still.

Also, Firefox just updated itself. It's version 3.5.5. I'm not sure if it's a new version or not. But, the crashes in 64-bit Windows 7 are gone.

I did notice that using Windows 7 on my netbook drains the battery faster than when I was using Windows XP.

After upgrading to Win7, there are noticeable skipping of frames and pixelization in the playback of 720p .mkv files that used to play smoothly in WinXp Pro. I used the same software but updated to the latest.

Windows 7 is also a much bigger OS. My Windows folder alone uses up 14.8gb.

Success! Rome: Total War now works in Win 7 64-bit. I had to jump through hoops though.
1. Install VirtualBox
2. Install Win XP Home in Virtual Box
3. Install Rome: Total War in virtual Win XP Home
4. Enable shared folder between VB Win XP and host Win 7
5. Copy Rome: Total War folder to shared folder. It's now in Win 7
It's limited to 1024x768. But, hey. It works here when officially, it's not compatible with Win 7.
Muwa ha ha ha.
Or, just copy the game folder from an XP pc that has it to the pc with 64-bit Win 7.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; November 8th, 2009 at 12:30 AM.

currently having issues with power management. I'm having bad latency and few stutter if I enable Eist in the bios or if the processor power management minimum powerstate is set anything below 81%.
