November 1st, 2009 02:02 PM #71I have the professional version installed on an atom 1.6 ghz machine, 1gb ram, and 20GB ide drive that is a relic from my old computer. Its running fine without any issues. but my kids just use it for chat, type, and simple 2d games. Works well. So it depends parin kung saan mo gagamitin.
I'll post my ratings as soon as I can..

Ang tanong ko is pano yung mga drivers ng netbook? Will those work with Windows 7?

November 1st, 2009 06:32 PM #74before doing an upgrade better install the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
this will check your current setup / drivers if it is compatible in win 7 so that you can do the preparation before starting to format.

November 2nd, 2009 10:49 AM #75That's not always the case. My Compaq M2000 is supposed to be underpowered for Win7 as indicated on the Upgrade Advisor's specs. But now I'm running RC build 7100 for 5 months with no problems. Not even BSOD!
EDIT:
Compaq M2000 Specs:
Celeron 1.5GHz processor
768MB RAM
40GB HDD
Intel 915GM graphics (up to 128MB shared video memory; NO Aero)
DVD Combo Drive
Broadcom Wireless LAN
Realtek LAN
It can't even run Vista decently!!! It's far from the speed of Win7 on my P4 desktop (3GHz, 3GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 8500GT), but heck, it's more stable than XP. I'd take stability over speed anytime.Last edited by roberto_minosa; November 2nd, 2009 at 10:55 AM.

As far as drivers....... The very newest hardware will always require a driver disc or download since there's no time to add them to the OS dvd. That's just the way it is.
I did test Windows 7 RC on my 2005-era Athlon X2 4200+/GF 8600GT or ATI X800XL pc. Windows update found all the drivers on the first try including the printer/scanner/twain drivers for my HP C4100 All In One printer.
I'd imagine hardware support have improved since.
Plus, worse comes to worse, Vista drivers should work with Windows 7 which is what I used when I tested Windows 7 RC on my Toshiba laptop.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; November 2nd, 2009 at 11:20 AM.

Congrats! I agree, can't seem to tell the difference (in terms of speed) from XP to 7. Using Windows 7 Home Premium on my Asus Eee
* tidius1203, did you re-install Super Hybrid Engine on your Eee? if so, I can only assume you also updated your bios in order for it to work. Pls let me know.
