but I would recommend Speedy vista nalang for the moment...
Here's a more recent desktop pic.
To be fair, I haven't installed the retail version of Vista on this pc. I've only installed the last beta version of Vista Ultimate and XP Home. My impression of Windows 7 is that the desktop is very responsive. It easily matched XP Home and that's having Aero features fully enabled. The Vista beta I tried before needed some compromises.
It's speedy alright. I do have some gripes. Personally, I think MS should've kept the classic Start Menu as an option. Win7's Taskbar and Start Menu seems much less functional than in previous versions of Windows. The Start Menu doesn't expand much anymore. I now have to scroll around which I dislike.
Overall, I like the responsiveness. Although I wish MS kept most of Vista's features, I'd still buy Win7 when it's released.
di pa nga ayus ganu vista . may windows 7 na..
even slower...
naaahhh.. ill still stick to XP..
Honestly, he's fine. Vista is still Microsoft's latest stable release of Windows. He doesnt have to worry about getting another operating system. A lot of people still use XP and prefer it to vista. There is really a great deal of freedom with PC's. It is all still compatible, so nothing to worry about it. Technically windows 7 isn't released yet, only the beta, windows 7 is just a Beta version for people to test out if he choice to switch. It just depends on what he need from a computer, he's own preferences and the technical specifications that differ from each OS.
Im enjoying it... medyo mabilis nga sya compare to vista.. and no problem with the drivers.. yung drivers din ng vista ang ginamit ko..
sigurado kailangan mataas ang specs ng computer mo niyan mga 8 core at 6gb ang mem.![]()
Well, I'm back to Win 7 (RC Build 7100). MS kept emailing me about it plus an expiration date of June 1, 2010 is hard to ignore.

you could get it free with your windows live free account or you can get it on *******s. I'd prefer mininova, basta read the user's comments before downloading...
Some notes on installation of Win 7 RC......
04:30 pm - Booted with Win 7 cd, did a quick format, expanded/copied files to hard drive
04:42 pm - Reboot
04:45 pm - Completed install, reboot
04:46 pm - Setup continued
04:48 pm - First boot to desktop
04:55 pm - All done.
I spend the next 30-40 minutes downloading/installing any latest drivers, apps, and games.
Not bad.
The copy issue where no progress shows has been fixed along with the slowdown issue. All the gadgets work.
The issue with Symantec software has also been fixed.
Looks good to me.
I have read in another forum that Windows 7 is to be released officially on October 22, 2009...hope by then all issues and drivers will be stable and available by then specially since I want to use it on my laptop...
Anyone knows where I can buy a legit copy of Windows 7 locally? Or should I just go to the dark side, takot ko lang if I do I will never be able to get updates and thus compromising the security of my PC later...
Windows has been officially launched worldwide. So I guess meron na dyan sa gilmore.. Here in pampanga, its available and eto ung mga price:
WINDOWS 7 HOME BASIC 4,900
WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM 5,700
WINDOWS 7 PRO 9,200
WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE 9,900
I'm using the 90 day free version on both of my computers.
I'm not one to impose my beliefs. But, there's always that refreshing feeling (and a clean conscience) knowing you're legit.
Plus, there are a number of nice MS downloads available (with valid WGA) one of which is MS Security Essentials. It rivals AVG for lightness of resources/transparency.
Anyway, my 32-bit Win 7 RC 1 is good until March 2010 although I've already ordered the 64-bit Win 7 Home Premium OEM.
I figure Win 7 plus 8gb ram should be plenty for Win 7 plus one or two Linux OSes running under virtualization/emulation.

Gosh I am not even sure my PC can handle Windows 7. I have a Core Duo 1.6Ghz, 1GB RAM and just an onboard videocard. Pero I plan to buy a new desktop maybe early next year then install Windows 7. I am trying to download the Piratebay version and try it with my current desktop and test drive it kung kaya...
