Zelenskyy denounced suggestions by former US diplomat Henry Kissinger that Ukraine should cede control of Crimea and Donbas to Russia in exchange for peace. On 25 May, Zelenskyy said that Ukraine would not agree to peace until Russia agreed to return Crimea and the Donbas region to Ukraine. Zelenskyy stressed that "Ukrainians are not ready to give away their land, to accept that these territories belong to Russia." He emphasized that Ukrainians own the land of Ukraine.

On 21 September, Zelenskyy addressed the UN General Assembly with a pre-recorded video, laying out five "non-negotiable" conditions for a "peace formula", comprising "just punishment" of Russia for its crimes committed against Ukraine, protection of life by "all available means allowed by the UN charter", restoring security and territorial integrity, security guarantees from other countries, and determination for Ukraine to continue defending itself.

Putin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that any peace plan can only proceed from Ukraine's recognition of Russia's sovereignty over the regions it annexed from Ukraine in September 2022.

On 28 December 2022, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that peace talks with Ukraine would only resume if it recognized Russia's sovereignty over the annexed and partially occupied regions.

We can only have peace if you recognize the goods i stole from your house (and killing your household members in the process) are mine and not yours.

    Smh.

if you who believe the narrative that Russia invaded Ukraine for no other reason except to land grab, that explains the thinking above

if your minds are closed to other explanations wala nako magagawa

but for those whose minds are still open... i challenge you to read this essay

How the West Brought War to Ukraine | by Benjamin Abelow | Medium

    -

the US manufactured that land grab narrative to cover up the real reasons why Russia invaded Ukraine

the media keeps calling it "unprovoked war"

they have to keep repeating it to drill it into the minds of people

because the truth is Russia was provoked

on the topic of suggested readings, one is better off understanding about the concept of territorial integrity and its related norms under international law

when fully grasped, there’s no excuse not to respect it in the civilized world

Yeah the west provoked Russia to get crimea, and invade ukraine. Right......

They were willing to get zelensky out on the first day until he made that infamous speech "i need weapons not a ride."

You are a smart guy Uls. No denying it. But you are 100% wrong on this one. Conspiracy theory vs reality and you choose conspiracy. You really think the Russians and Putin are the good guys and the victims.

    They are the invaders
    They are the murderers
    They are the blackmailers
They are the ones spewing hate on their propaganda shows
    They are the kidnappers
And guess what? They are gonna be the losers.

And yet you can see past all that and point to the west and ukraine as the ones at fault. Smh dude.

International law, norms and rules...and you choose crackhead rightwing conspiracy theory.

Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 in response to the US-engineered coup that removed pro-Russian president Yanukovych from power

...not to mention invading Iraq where the US and its Allies never found the Weapons of Mass Destruction which the US Mainstream Media repeatedly lied to the gullible public.

NATO also bombed and ransacked Libya which caused the death of their hated enemy Muammar Gaddafi. And now they are fighting for Libya's oil.

What the Russians are doing is wrong and nobody would say they have a greater reason or mandate to conduct such operations against Ukraine.

That doesn’t mean they are more evil than the other superpowers. The US, UK, France, China, and a few other countries did the same against other countries. Do we just pardon what was done in the past just because they came out as victors?

Superpowers don’t operate pushing what is right or wrong but only what serves their best interests. Accept it or not, nobody would dare hold them accountable for the gory acts of violence they did in the past.

    Whataboutism isnt a justification.

Two wrongs dont make a right.

Just because the other guy did it i can do it too...

No one is saying the USA didnt **** around in Iraq and AfGhanistan. Idiots there and they got their ass kicked spectacularly in the end in Afghanistan .

The russian's used the USA playbook of justifications and its biting them in the arse as well.

And no , the USA isnt occupying 1/3rd of Syria. The Russians have a naval base in Syria not the other way around. Assad has largely crushed all opposition after their rebellion with the help of Russian airpower and indiscriminate bombing. Where does the USA have boots in the ground that covers 1/3rd of Syria???

During WW2, the Allies convinced Ho Chi Minh to fight for them to repel the Japanese and in return, they will be granted independence. After WW2, the Allies never lived up to its word and restored French colonialism in Vietnam.

Ho Chi Minh rallied the Vietnamese to fight for unity and independence yet the West was doing its best to divide them. The West was telling the World that they are fighting against the evil of communism. The US bombed Vietnam back to the stone age yet the people never faltered. With the help of Russian and Chinese equipment, the Vietnamese outfought the French, Brits, and the Americans.

Was Russia/China wrong to help its communist ally? Or was the US so evil for installing their ideas thru firepower?

It is all a matter of perspective. At the end of the day, each side believes they are fighting for the good.

The sobering part of the Ukraine war is that it is a catalyst.

    A catalyst for nuclear armaments.

Iran is definitely going for it.

South Korea is debating it given North Korea's Beligerence and posturing .

Ukraine (when it wins) will definitely want them for deterence.

Saudi Arabia desperately wants it to counter Iran.

Israel, pakistan, north korea, india. China, UK, france, russia, USa already have their Armageddon weapons and will just make their delivery systems even more accurate and fool proof.
