Russia abandons Ukrainian city of Kherson in major retreat | Reuters

The announcement had been anticipated by Russia's influential war bloggers, who described it as a bitter blow.

"Apparently we will leave the city, no matter how painful it is to write about it now," said the War Gonzo blog, which has more than 1.3 million subscribers on Telegram.

"In simple terms, Kherson can't be held with bare hands," it said. "Yes, this is a black page in the history of the Russian army. Of the Russian state. A tragic page."

Compounding the sense of Russian disarray in Kherson, Moscow's number two official there, Kirill Stremousov, was killed in a car crash on Wednesday.

Stremousov was one of the most prominent faces of Russia's occupation. Ukraine viewed him as a collaborator and a traitor.

In a video statement only hours before his death, Stremousov denounced what he called Ukrainian "Nazis" and said the Russian military was in "full control" of the situation in the south.

The Russian withdrawal from Kherson is a big blow to their moral and reputation however it’s part of the strategy of the newly appointed commander of their forces in Ukraine, General Sergey Surovikin. For him, attacking critical infrastructure facilities before the winter and abusing the civilian population will do a much better job than sacrificing his soldiers.
The man is very experienced. After all, he did the same to the rebels in Syria.

The Ukrainians are storming the Kakhovka dam right now in a blitz, attempting to take it from the Russians who were trying to blow it up.

Absolute chaos in Russian channels right now.

Zelensky: If Russia blows up Kakhovka dam, it will be war declaration to whole world.

surovikin made mega big bucks in syria too. according to moscow corruption watchdogs, he was the man mainly responsible for establishing russian access to a very lucrative venture in syrian phosphate mining for one of putin's pet oligarch, gennady timchencko .

As part of the Russian withdrawal to the east of the Dnieper River, they are essentially cutting off eastern Ukraine in their hands from the west, including blowing up railway bridges over the river, from today.

why would the whole world be at war with russia if the dam is breached?

so all zelensky has to do is blow the dam and pin the blame on russia in order to drag the world in ukraines mess

putin's top propaganda man ranting and raving on state tv on how they were outsmarted and outmanoeuvred by zelensky, his allies, and his men.

the man is really sore for losing his palatial italian villas overlooking the picturesque lake como (due to eu sanctions). the prominent human rights lawyer wife of actor/activist neighbor george clooney, amal, must be grinning from ear-to-ear.

Poland's President Says "No Evidence" Who Fired On Border Village

Poland''s President Says "No Evidence" Who Fired On Border Village

"Earlier Warsaw announced a "Russia made" missile landed on the border village of Przewodów, and Poland's Foreign Ministry said it has summoned the Russian ambassador for a meeting. However, it should be noted that Ukraine's anti-air defense arsenal has always been "Russia made" - especially its S-300 systems. Poland's statement is interesting in that it did not say "Russia launched" missile, leaving the question of the missile's origins open.

All of the above points in the direction that this was actually a projectile fired by Ukraine, as some of our coverage below suggested."

for me matagal nang atat ang US/NATO gerahin ang russia

if we're gonna discuss escalation then we'd have to go back a decade

the US wanted to install a pro-US leader in ukraine but ukrainians elected a pro-russia leader so the US engineered an uprising to remove the pro-russia leader (read about maidan coup)

everything since then was crossing russian red lines over and over hanggang hindi na matiis ng russia

so ung sinasabi ng western media that this is an unprovoked war i don't believe that

and now we are here... at the brink of ww3

Let’s not talk about previous escalations, Every nation meron past.

In this particular instance lang, kung totoo na nag fire ng missile Russia sa Poland then sino nag escalate at atat na atat ng war na with US/NATO?

Laging bumabalik sa past na hinde naman nag escalate, we are talking about current events.
