whether the BNPP was overpriced or not, it is not logical not to continue it, we're paying for it anyway. If BNPP was continued, maybe we still have LP gov't at this time. Just that it was used for propaganda.

Just think of it, PRRD's did a lot of loans for the Build3x. For any President next to him, the right mindset should continue it because we will be paying it anyway.

It is not just overpriced, it has also safety concerns. Like it is close to an earthquake fault line and it is also close to an active volcano.

"When the Aquino government decided not to open the BNPP in 1986, among the safety measures cited was the location of the plant as it is situated close to an earthquake fault line. It is also 7.5 kilometers away from Mount Natib, which the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) considers as a “potentially active volcano.”

While the details about the BNPP project laid out in the video are factual, it left out some key information. For one, the video mentioned that the plant passed the inspection of the International Atomic Energy Agency, an organization that promotes the peaceful use of nuclear energy, in 1985. But a Fortune article in 1986 detailed how that inspection report was not conducted by construction experts.

Safety concerns had been raised even before the construction of the plant was completed, too. In 1980, US nuclear engineer Robert Pollard of the now-defunct US Atomic Energy Commission visited the Philippines to inspect the BNPP. He reported that the plant would not be safe, reliable, and inexpensive."

chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986 exposed before the whole world the ill effects of nuclear power generation

fukushima nuclear disaster of 2011 exposed how vulnerable these nuclear power plants to the force of nature

1990 strong quake hit northern luzon and a few months after 1991 mount pinatubo (zambales province) erupted in close proximity to the BNPP (bataan province). had these 2 cataclysmic events resulted in a nuclear leak, who will the ilk of "top engine" blame? the dilawan right

after all looking back at post edsa philippines cory had non dilawan successors (fidel ramos aquino, joseph erap aquino, gloria arroyo aquino and rodrigo duterte aquino) who could have reversed corys decision to mothball BNPP.

cory died in 2008..she no longer have direct influence to rodrigo duterte aquino for him not to reverse that fateful executive decision to mothball the BNPP

still its the dilawans fault..now marcos jr will preside the country..lets all wait and see if he will live up to their propaganda and operate BNPP

what the BNPP nuclear leak could mean to the philippines?

considering BNPP is located in bataan (central luzon) and the adjoining provinces are considered rice granary of the country..a major leak could spread in all directions and render those rice fields untillable for a long period of time

famine will surely come to us pinoys..definitely, there will be no P20 per kilo rice as promised by marcos jr

still it will be the dilawans fault coz who won the 2022 national election was actually ferdinand marcos aquino jr

Ang mahirap kung buhayin ang BNNP ay kung para gatasan lang, pero i-mothball din lang later.

ito isa pang connected na pala-isipan sa pagdating sa revival ng bnpp: Australia has more than 30% of the world's proven uranium reserves and is the 2nd most prolific producer of this wonky substance as of last year (next only to the unpredictable kazakhs) and yet they have resisted to join the list of countries using nuclear power on a mass and commercial scale. as the aussies would say when bewildered about something, "what's the john dory on that?". (not sure kung sa tamang context gamit dito though )

*pasensya na at naka-inom na kaya ito na lang ang contri ko sa usapan na ito*
