Are they switching to online store?
Sent from my SM-N970F using Tsikot Forums mobile app
Matagal nanaman iyan sila may online presence/ store...years prior to the pandemic pa.
Minsan nakiki-basa at tambay pa ako.

That's the problem with stores that cater mostly to the upper class, during this pandemic, kung sino pa yung may pera ang siyang ayaw lumabas.

kaya iwan tayo as predicted by LKY

same old same old
it's not a matter of imported goods
it's a matter of letting foreign companies (that are usually bigger than local ones) to provide consumers with better service/products
like better phone service (there was a time PLDT had no competition... wala globe, wala bayantel... kahit lagi sira landline wala ka choice)
like better power service (sino kalaban ni meralco?)
example lang yan

I don't think we would have a very successful Jollibee now without the entrance of McDonald's in the Philippines in the 70s or 80s.
Basically McDonald's gave Tony Tan Caktiong all the ideas on how to operate a successful world class fast food business.
so you got local companies protected by politicians via protectionist laws
those companies can provide lousy products/service at high prices coz wala sila kalaban
insane profits allow their owners to pee in golden toilets
oh yes they provide employment naman daw
yeah
the only ones who get paid enough to climb out of poverty and enter the middle class are executives of those companies
the rest of the population need to look for work abroad

well, may point na local companies (like Meralco) do not have competition, and even if a local company decides to compete against it, wala silang size and capital to scare Meralco. Just look at Dito, ilan ang kilala mong nagswitch sa kanila?
as simple as small consumer items, when was the last time you purchased anything from Bench?
when was the last time you used a Cherry phone
In Japan, Japanese buy local meat and fruits kahit mas mahal compared sa imported kasi they know its good quality
Dito sa atin, hog raisers are crying foul over imported frozen pork
I was in Baguio last November and a lady from the market was trying hard to explain why their more expensive carrot is way better than the imported ones.
for those who remember how bad PLDT's landline service was during the 80s and 90s
if gov't allowed a foreign company much larger than PLDT to provide phone service... mas maunlad pa sana tayo ngayon kesa kung ano tayo ngayon

re meralco
poor infrastructure, high cost of power
look, consumers are price sensitive
so ano solusyon diyan?
i-ban mo ung imported?
taasan mo ung tax? (protectionist)
I was just stating a fact na mahirap na nga mag-open ang foreign companies sa atin
tapos we can't rely on being "consumer based" (to drive the economy) kasi we also prefer imported items.

If the gov't allowed 100% foreign owned companies to operate in our country... sana nandito na GoJek
