What foreign money think of DU30s COVID responses... 2 weeks economies and world's longest lockdown won't hack it.
Pandemic woes continue to push hot money out of PH markets | Inquirer Business
“This was larger compared to the $706 million net outflows noted for the same period last year brought about by uncertainties due, among others, to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic to the global economy and financial system, and other key events earlier in the year such as the geopolitical and trade tensions, and corporate governance issues involving the water concessionaires,” the BSP said.
Meanwhile, year-to-date transactions for all investments — Philippine Stock Exchange-listed securities, peso-denominated government securities and other investments — resulted in net outflows.
For July 2020 alone, BSP-registered foreign portfolio investments yielded net outflows of $453 million resulting from the $1.2 billion gross outflows and $719 million gross inflows for the month.
This was larger than the recorded net outflows of $235 million in June.

Another industry that remained "essential" during the lockdown...
More Pinoys paying off pawnshop loans to redeem valuables during pandemic, BSP says | Inquirer Business
Based on the BSP’s daily surveillance report, 68 percent of pawnshop offices operated during the Enhance Community Quarantine period. These increased to almost 80 percent once the lockdown was relaxed.
Eighty-two percent of the industry provided corollary services to the public as of end-July 2020. These include processing of domestic and international remittances, money changing, bills payment, e-loading, collection, corporate disbursement pay-out, and distribution of microinsurance.
Banks and e-money issuers also tap pawnshops as cash agents in areas that cannot be reached by the banks’ or e-money firms’ own networks.
Pawnshops with money transfer services are also tapped in the distribution of the government’s financial assistance for COVID-19 beneficiaries, such as the Department of Labor and Employment’s Social Amelioration Program and COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program, the Social Security System’s Small Business Wage Subsidy, and the Department of Agriculture’s Rice Farmers Financial Assistance, with a minimal cash out fee of two percent per transaction.
yun nga ung observation noong lockdown madami nakapila sa mga pawnshop
some theorized it's people pawning jewelry and stuff but i believed it wasn't for that purpose
pawnshops are now kinda lang banks to the masses
-
nakapila mga tao to get remittances and ayuda
Pawnshops are providing financial services to the masses
Cebuana even has microsavings
50 pesos lang initial deposit and 1 ID lang needed

Good bye POGOs, whether Du30 wants to or not... Ayan, bawal na mga TDKs sa pinas.
Southeast Asian nations in firing line as China reveals “blacklist” of overseas casino tourism destinations - IAG
According to a statement issued early Wednesday, the new blacklist system for cross-border gambling tourist destinations, devised in conjunction with other departments, will see travel restrictions imposed on Chinese citizens going to overseas cities and scenic spots named on the blacklist.
While there was no detail provided on exactly which countries appear on the blacklist, investment bank JP Morgan analysts has suggested China is likely pointing to emerging Southeast Asian gaming destinations such as the Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam, and potentially Australia.
The Philippines and Cambodia have both been in China’s crosshairs in recent times, with Cambodia agreeing to shut down its regulated online gaming industry late last year and the Philippines rejecting similar overtones regarding its POGOs.
^Australia nag start yan crackdown since last year or2 after uncovering China money laundering from drugs and trafficking in the guise of casino.
Kaya kahit dito sa pinas madami gang wars ng chinamen.

We are all in difficult position, we have to prioritize, and sacrifice some elements of curriculum so we can continue operating; DepEd has already reduced learning competencies From 10-11k to just 4K

cavite is determined to develop sangley point as a major airport hub. they're eyeing to follow the same route congress and the bulacan lgu gave smc by awarding lucio tan's macro asia w/ similar tax incentives and attractive build-operate-transfer deals as encouragement to proceed w/ the enhancement of the underutilized airport in cavite city.
pero may possible hiccup din sa winning bidder ng project na ito kasi macro asia teamed up w/ a chinese company w/c will face american sanctions for taking part in the construction of the artificial island in the West Philippines Sea.

Party's over?
PH real estate crashes back to pre-POGO levels: Office take up to plunge 6 % - Colliers | Bilyonaryo
The party is officially over for the Philippine property sector after enjoying a four-year boom on the back of unprecedented demand from Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).
In its latest regional report, Colliers expects overall Philippines demand and supply reverting to pre-POGO levels due to the economic recession brought about the coronavirus and the government’s reluctance to allow the resumption of POGOs.
kahit hindi landlord ng POGO may problema din
dami business mahina ngayon... not making enough to pay rent
tenants are renegotiating with landlords
