Thats how the Chinese see it. Of course self righteous yung decisions nila.. we just protect what's ours based on UNCLOS, a law where majority of the nations has agreed (including China). The problem with them is they want to own all islands near (and far away). That's the first step in global domination.. small islands now.. the rest of the world tomorrow.

Alaska F-22s deployed to Pacific even as tensions escalate between China, Japan
    Ben Anderson | Sep 18, 2012

Alaska’s fleet of F-22 fighter jets and their elite pilots have been deployed to an airbase in the Pacific U.S. territory of Guam, according to officials at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage. The deployment has been planned for some time, but happens to coincide with a period of escalating tension in the Pacific Theater, as Japan and China dispute who has the rights to a set of uninhabited, resource-rich islands.

A press release sent out Monday night from JBER said that the F-22 Raptors were deployed to Andersen Air Force Base in Guam, located nearly 2,000 miles from China. According to public affairs officer Capt. Ashley Conner, it is the first time since January of 2011 that the F-22s have been deployed to the region, and is part of a series of rotations that began in 2009.

“This deployment is the second F-22 Pacific Command theater deployment since 2011,” Conner said. “The F-22s from Langley AFB, Virginia were the first to deploy. It is a rotational deployment that signifies a continued commitment to regional stability and security and allows our units to become familiar with operating in the Pacific theater.”

The move to the Pacific is interesting in light of the heightened tension between Japan and China, originating from a dispute over what the Japanese call the Senkaku Islands and the Chinese refer to as the Diaoyu Islands. While some of the debate revolves around the fishing waters around the islands -- China launched a 1,000-fishing-vessel fleet over the weekend -- that’s not the real issue.

"These islands are just tiny little rocks in the ocean, not inhabitable, so the land itself is not really the point," said Dr. Paul Dunscomb, a professor of East Asian history at the University of Alaska Anchorage. "But the ocean territories and the seabed resources around the islands are very much the point, in particular oil and gas and minerals."

The F-22s based out of Langley are currently stationed in Kadena, Japan, very close to the islands in question. The U.S. has a security treaty with Japan which would obligate military intervention should the situation escalate, but Conner said that this most recent deployment is entirely unrelated the situation.

“These deployments are a prudent measure to maintain a credible deterrent posture and presence in the region and not in response to any specific situation,” Conner said. “This deployment is just resuming the F-22 deployment rotation.”

Still, given the close scrutiny on the situation in the Pacific and China and Japan’s long history of distrust, the timing of the move is intriguing. According to Dunscomb, bad blood remains in China over the occupation of that country by Japanese forces for about a half-century beginning in the late 19th century and ending with World War II. Dunscomb said that hard feelings about atrocities committed by the Japanese during those years have been etched into the national consciousness of China.

Russia and the U.S. arm India and Vietnam to contain China’s rise

China’s rise is causing concern around the world, Russian veterans De Lazi wrote that Two or three years ago, The whole country of Russia has been concerned about the western country, recently put the sights on China rapidly growing in economic and military power. Russia and the U.S., hopes to strengthen cooperation with China’s regional rival India, Vietnam’s military, political cooperation, especially in large supply of advanced weapons and equipment to contain China. If the conflict in China and neighboring countries, Russia and the U.S. or standing on the sidelines, or fish in troubled waters, in any case can be allowed to crowd the initiative to play off.
    kilo-class-submarine vietnam

Vietnam has purchased from Russia six Kilo-class submarines

Vietnam navy has purchased from Russia six Kilo-class conventional submarines to against China’s rise

Dela Zi believes that it has been a world power in the East to start a new Great Game, struggled, at daggers drawn, the growing trend is not good, facing out of control risk. Russia has been involuntarily involved in this game, not only because of Russia in the East as the world’s largest country has vast territory, or because of Moscow in Russia and the Soviet Union has accumulated rich experience in struggle, in and of China, India, United States mutual relations of both worlds, duck to water.

Russian media said that China is very big changes in recent years has become a world superpower, nuclear club members, to launch satellites and manned spacecraft, with the status of permanent members, accounting for one fifth of the world’s population, is the world’s largest food, meat, vegetables, fruit, tin, coal, cotton-producing countries, hydropower resources in the world. Of course, China is also facing some difficulties, especially lack of domestic energy resources, sustained economic growth is facing the threat of unsustainable. Science and Technology Development in China in recent decades has been a major leap forward, although not to the level of United States and Russia, but has been able to play an important role, can promote rapid growth of China’s military strength. If ten to twenty years ago, the Chinese military equipment or uniform of the Soviet weapons, now virtually all new weapons and equipment of modern dress made. At the same time develop new submarines, aircraft carriers, and improve the old technology, to master new technologies. If the elite division before the Chinese army is the army, then now it is replaced by a modern air force and navy.

De Lazi pointed out that many countries, particularly the Asia-Pacific neighbors, the peaceful rise of China expressed concern and worry, and continue to advocate the Chinese threat. The Pentagon report to Congress that China forces in the Pacific and Indian Oceans continued to increase and focus on developing long-range air defense systems, medium-range ballistic and cruise missiles, manufacturing high-tech radio-electronic and computer equipment, hackers launched against enemy information systems attack, the 5th generation fighter and the development of defensive weapons in space, so the U.S. military must be strengthened presence in the Asia Pacific region, should be the challenge from China’ s rise. South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and other countries also to develop the military, against China.

Russian media said Japan had invaded China together with the two Western powers, in northern China during World War II genocide of the implementation of real policies, killing millions of Chinese people, has also rejected a formal apology. In 1895, Japan won China’s Diaoyu Islands, China in 1992, publicly urged the Japanese side to return the Chinese territory. In 1999 a large number of oil and gas reserves found in the East China Sea continental shelf, the territorial dispute between China and Japan even more severe. Japan and even the end of 2010 changes in military strategy, that is no longer the main danger now is Russia, but North Korea and China, so be prepared to develop the Air Force, Navy and submarine force, doing everything possible to strengthen the military and political alliance with the United States.

Russian media said that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, has been conducting cross-strait reunification talks, but Zengyin the leader of Taiwan issued a “two states theory” and severely damaged. United States and Japan to block China’s reunification with Taiwan, although the United States arms sales to Taiwan, but once the United States suffered a serious internal crisis or another, and Iran, Pakistan and other countries a war, because of insufficient resources will be unable to protect Taiwan Moreover, American society will be against They do not understand why the Chinese people themselves to prevent problems. The development of the Taiwan military authorities insisted, strengthen the naval and air forces, developed unmanned aerial vehicles, anti-ship missiles and air defense systems, buy new fighter jets the United States. For the Taiwan issue, China’s principled position is to work towards a peaceful settlement, if the military action, there will be more sacrifices. Even if the U.S. and the West encouraged, Taiwan and the mainland is unlikely to really go to war.

Dela Zi said, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Brunei and China has been competing in the total area of the Nansha Islands only 40 more than 100 million square kilometers of islands and reefs, some reefs have been the actual occupation of the parties to the armed forces, often place a small friction. Spratly Islands is extremely important geo-strategic location, rich in biological resources, contains large oil and gas resources. In 2008 the Philippines had declared the island will fight in the end, when action in Vietnam recently, the parties are in the military buildup, especially the navy, the submarine force and naval aviation focus. Vietnam and China, often against, was a thousand years of Chinese rule, China is competing rivals in Southeast Asia, a serious territorial dispute. When the Vietnamese or the Soviet Union allies, the countries do not have a big risk, but now Russia is not the Soviet Union, Vietnam, marked increase in threats, Hanoi has been trying to consolidate military contacts with the United States, or even rumored to Cam Ranh Bay as a military prepared to provide base, strengthening cooperation with India, the United States against China’s rise.

Russian media said, in order to contain China’s rise, in addition to Vietnam, the Russian and U.S. also actively support other regional rivals China, India, the great help India to develop armaments. For many years Russia has been helping India to strengthen military construction, through the installation of modern weapons and equipment, including the supply of between 2002-2009 amounted to $ 9,874,000,000, India accounted for almost 60% of the total arms imports, the supply of the scale of last year, just as great. Now Russia’s arsenal for the production of the Indian army tanks, planes, helicopters, new submarines, aircraft carriers, surface warships, the Russian MiG and Sukhoi also transfer the production of fighter aircraft technology, joint development of 5th generation fighter. The United States also decided to expand arms exports to India, in February this year, U.S. Secretary of Commerce led a large delegation to visit India for industrial, defense and space between the two countries agreed to study the technical cooperation, the United States to sell India even 5th generation fighter F- 35 to -20 F against China. In addition, Israel, Britain, France, India, also armed, but small. China and India are traditional rivals, the two countries in the East and West Line border territorial disputes. Great efforts to strengthen China and Pakistan, Bangladesh’s economic and military cooperation, to increase India’s traditional sphere of influence of the neighboring countries as their effects, such as Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka. India has been vigorously expanding military power, and actively cooperate with the United States and Russia. However, the plateau and India in the inaccessible border areas is unlikely that large-scale conflict broke out, and two of population, roughly the same number of troops and resources, neither side is difficult to easily win. If India attack China’s ally Pakistan, the Chinese side may have limited action taken by the Indian side.

Let's side with the Chinese Communist government that has killed and persecuted millions in cultural purges, which is why so many Fil-Chis fled here to the Philippines.

Or let's side with the Americans who subjugated us and denied us freedom for decades after buying the country from the Spanish, killing thousands of Filipinos in war?

If you dig back in time, everyone has wronged everyone else. The problem is, the people who did the wronging and who ordered these things are all long dead.

Well, except for those who ordered the Tianamen Square massacre. They're still around.

I'd rather side with a now democratic and non-hostile Japan than an expansionist, bullying China.

Again, why persecute the Chinese people? They're not doing anything wrong. Am I against the regime in Beijing? Totally.

But am I against Chinese? Nope.

Some of my best friends are Fil-Chi.

My grandmother was put in a concentration camp by the US Government. Am I against Americans? Of course not. I'm an American, and my relatives there are all half-white.

Why generalize the sins of a few as the sins of all those who live in a country?

that's a little backward thinking there, dont you think?. that war is long over, japan lost. they paid for it by losing 2 cities to atom bombs, and having their entire economy destroyed. it's not worth bringing in to the current picture.

china is not killing us economically. we do not directly compete with their production power. in fact their growth suggests that pretty soon income in china will rise enough that companies will start looking for cheaper labor in countries like vietnam.

wrong again. its not about money. it's about resources. china only started claiming those japanese islands when it was surveyed to possibly contain oil and gas reserves. it is also the reason everybody is claiming the small tracts of land in the south china sea. china needs these resources to sustain future growth.

We don't actually generalize all chinese, but we all know that we only refer to those active in bullying fellow asian countries, those who are demonstrating against Japan, and those government leaders who pave this path of destruction.

Come to think of it, in case Japan pulls out his factories in China, this may open economic opportunities in other parts of Asia (including RP).

The question is, how will the world live without "Made in China" goods?

I know they want to control resources. Who ever has resources has power and "money". So it is about money.

China is not killing us economically? Where have you been? How many factories were closed down. How many farmers lost due to Chinese imports. Oh sorry only the poor got affected. Look around you. How many made in Philippines have you bought? By the way China is not the cheapest in labor.
