Basically, kung mali ang kinikilalang DIos ng isang religious group, ibig sabihin they are worshiping a false god. Kahit pa sabihin mong gumagawa ka ng mabuti tapos ina-alay mo sa false god balewala rin.

In Acts 2:22, this is written:

What did God do to Jesus and what was the purpose of God in making Jesus both Lord and Christ?

In Philippians 2:8-9, this is written:

Because of His obedience to God, God exalted Jesus and gave Him the name above every name,

What was God's purpose?

10. so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11. and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2: 10-11)

The same verses in another version of the Bible:

so that all created beings in heaven and on earth—even those long ago dead and buried—will bow in worship before this Jesus Christ, and call out in praise that he is the Master of all, to the glorious honor of God the Father. (Philippians 2: 10-11,)

God wants everyone to "bow in worship" and "call out in praise" that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory or glorious honor of God the Father. Please note, that Jesus in not being worshiped just because He is God but He is being worshipped because it is the will and for the glorious honor of God the Father.

Why is worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ to the glorious honor of God the Father?

He who honors the Son honors the Father who sent Him. Thus worshiping Jesus is for the glorious honor of God the Father.

Why is worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ to the glorious honor of God the Father?

"that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. (John 5:23,)

He who honors the Son honors the Father who sent Him. Thus worshiping Jesus is for the glorious honor of God the Father.

Therefore Christ is not a mere man, otherwise its idolatry for God is a jealous God and only want to be worshiped alone.

Alangan namang ma munga ng bayabas ang manga.

This is a good illustration as to why Jesus Christ is giving the Fatehr the higher authority than Him in some verses of the Bible. But it doesn't mean that Jesus is not God as what Arian based religion like INC kept on saying.
