a guy was practically blaming the president for policemen's attitude towards rape victims and i said it's coz of old-fashioned backwards culture that men blame women for getting raped and it's a 3rd world phenomena not a PH-only phenomena and that it has nothing to do with who is president

then there's this guy who kept citing examples of du30's controversial comments re rape probably implying that the president's attitude towards women encourages policemen to victim-blame rape victims implying victim-blaming only happened during this admin

which elicited my reply -- just show me evidence that there wasn't victim-blaming during the past admin

which has nothing to do with the 6 month promise you're talking about

i recall that 6 month promise was to wipe out the drug problem which was a gross underestimation of the problem

It is about leadership. I have 4 police relatives (1 high ranking) and JM can attest to that. But no matter how upright they are, the leaders who are supposed to be their role models are not walking the talk. Dont expect positive change to happen at all.

Totoo naman na mahirap mabago culture ng police. Pero ang masaklap eh dahil sa leadership ni PDigong at Bato, tumindi pa police impunity. Marami ako kamag-anak na police ha. Hindi haka-aka ito.

Funny thing sinmce 530am pasok ng anak ko, hinahatid pa pala ni kumander papunta sa abangan sa kanto namin.

Sabi ko huwag na, ang laki na niyan eh. Sagot ba naman niya eh baka ma-"tokhang". Yeah, nag-improve talaga peace and security natin. Hindi na takot mga tao sa kriminal. Lamang lang naman takot nila sa kapulisan. Sad.

Tokhang?
Hindi pa ako natakot mag lakad sa bohol ng mag isa kahit gabi and kahit sa cebu... although di ko sinasabi na safe ang place, lagi lang talaga ako alarm sa sorroundings... with regard to tokhang, may assesment is may good cop and bad cop talaga.. kaya kunting strict pa mga sirs sa mga kapulisan po para mawala na ang bad cop...

It will take a while... siguro decades, depende kung gaano ka sincere ang isa para sa pagbabago... lets start this with simple things, like sa bahay.. small victory is still a victory...
