Experts asked questions too about China’s sudden interest in Malaysia with the Najib Razak regime opening its arms and everything else to Beijing’s promises of massive loans.

“While China may still be considered a developing economy, its current strategy of providing soft power loans and aid to its regional neighbours is reminiscent of the tributary system that the country employed back in its empire days,” said the duo.

Lacson said he had predicted the inflationary effect of the TRAIN law in the course of opposing the measure. The tax law was passed last year and took effect on Jan. 1.

“I don’t regret voting against the measure,” he said in a tweet.

One day i hope somebody can explain to me why the world's #2 economy is still considered a "developing country".

As i understand it, Najib Razak diverted funds from 1MDB meant for government projects to personal accounts. As 1MDB went bankrupt, China came "to the rescue".

Now, Malaysia is China's b_tch. Sino kaya ang susunod?

Parang yung isyu dun kay Mark Tolentino when he had that supposedly unauthorized presscon.

May budget naman daw ang government to fund Mindanao Rail Transit. Pero may mga tao, daw, (based on his presscon) who wants the project to be funded by China under a loan contract.

Eh may budget pala tayo, bat kailangang umutang? Alam na.

Of course natabunan yung issue and instead he became the news after being sacked by the president himself.

    common sense lang

linggo linggo may pump price hike

so linggo linggo may dagdag na excise tax?

    duh

anyone can google "oil prices" to see oil prices go from around $65 in january to $80 this month

anyone can google "USDPHP" to see USDPHP go from 50 in january to 52+ this month

excise tax contributed P3.00 to pump prices

the rest from higher oil prices and weaker peso

but anti-duterte crowd wants to blame TRAIN and ignore other factors

coz TRAIN is a du30 admin creation and their narrative is --> walang ginawang tama ang du30 admin

they won't admit there are other factors coz it goes against their narrative

    yun lang yun

Then there's that sweetheart deal with Landing Resorts for the Nayong Pilipino lease. Gov't could potentially lose Php25B in the deal. Sa previous DOT admin nangyari to. Good luck to Mrs. Puyat.

Landing intends to build a casino there...anong nangyari sa casino moratorium? Why are we even discussing the casino in Boracay when the idea should've been killed at birth?

Then earlier pa, somebody granted a 75yr license to a Chinese offshore gaming corporation. It never ceases to amaze me how people can be satisfied with mere firings of erring government officials.

China is still considered a developing country coz its per capita income is still far below that of developed countries

Ako ok na sana kung wala nawala pera sa kaban ng bayan. Pwede pa tanggapin na resign na lang kasi no harm done. Pero ibang usapan talaga if nalugi gov't.

    anyone can google the evidence

    Oh well

    sige

pag nagrollback ang pump prices next week

ang dahilan ay na-suspend ang excise tax ha

Too presumptive and generalized naman ata yan.

I think majority just wants the 16-21M to just realize their mistake and when surveys comes and hopefully election time, PDigong rating plunging down to negative or below even 40% would be enough assurance that at least magaya kay Mar i-proproclaim ni PDigong when time comes. Parang kiss of death ni Pnoy.

Tsaka PP1 and PP2 is peaceful naman ah? No need for violence imho.

The ratio of people wanting a harder life is imho undoubtedly lower than those that wish the 16-21m people realize the mistake of voting PDigong. Because at the end of the day, the buck stops at the one in command and that is the President.

Sir may epekto naman talaga TRAIN. Kaso mas malaking factor talaga pagtaas ng oil sa world market. Yun ang punto ni uls.

Even at the start ayaw ko na sa TRAIN kasi nga addt'l tax is not the solution, better collection and going after tax evaders and smugglers dapat focus ng gov't.

Personally, I am not for anarchy ... and 1986 EDSA was not equal to anarchy ... bloodless people power nga yun eh .... don't you know ... google lang people power revolution EDSA 1986 ....
and again, personally, siraulo lang yung mga gusto magkagulo at mawindang ang bansa dahil sa isang tao ... that's too vindictive ... and too drastic ...and too extreme....
also you don't need life to be "more difficult" para mag-rally mga tao .... rallies in the Phils. are a way of life na eh ... or di mo nakita ... kahit kaninong admin may rally...
and again personally, unlike some people, I don't believe you should burn the whole house down to smoke out a rat.

China will forever be a developing country then, because it will be really a struggle for their government to increase their per capita income considering their population.

it is fact that it's easier to move from low-income to middle income than to move from middle-income to high-income

China is considered a middle-income country

there's actually something called middle-income trap that is difficult to get out of

If we base the classification on per capita income, maybe yes. But, considering the massive amounts of infrastructure China has been able to put up, and the fact that they probably have the highest concentration of billionaires in the world and having the most powerful military in Asia, I don't view them as a developing country at all.

^ and they intend to lift the one/two child policy. On one hand it's a knee jerk reaction to their aging population, but if they can't provide sufficient jobs, ganun dun.
