Weather weather lang... Same political patronage.

A businessman who owns majority of the shares of the Philippine International Air Terminals Co. Inc. (PIATCO) is emerging to be a person to watch for as the battle for providing ground services to airlines at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) heats up due to MIASCOR’s looming departure.

Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade on Thursday (January 25) confirmed that Jeffrey Cheng is a shareholder of the Philippine Airport Ground Support Solutions Inc. (PAGSS), a company engaged in ground handling services at NAIA.

However, he clarified in an interview with Karen Davila over ANC’s “Headstart” that PAGSS has not bagged the contract that MIASCOR used to have with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).

“Again, there is no one taking over at this time,” he said. “Jeffrey Cheng is a share owner of PAGSS. PAGSS is an accredited serving provider of ground handling.”

Tugade explained that airlines can choose which ground handling services provider to choose at NAIA since the matter is a business decision.

“If you give it to Mr. Jeffrey Cheng… there will be a negotiation with his company and the airline. They have to talk about service standards, compensation, quality performance, etcetera. Hindi po kami yun,” he said.

Tugade shrugged off the allegation that PAGSS will be chosen to take over MIASCOR’s contract with NAIA since Cheng is reportedly close to politikos.

“People can play on their perceptions. People can play on their judgment. That does not necessarily mean it’s true,” he said.

Cheng is allegedly close to House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, who used to be Transportation Secretary under the Arroyo administration.

PIATCO was the contractor for the NAIA Terminal 3.

MIAA recently ordered MIASCOR to leave NAIA’s premises within 60 days after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered a change in aviation services provider due to incidents of theft at airports.

There is legal separation for those with marital problems and there is annulment as well. I do believe that is enough.

I completely disagree that there is mo rational reason for opposing same *** marriage. That is just as being irrational altogether. Who has the right to absolutely impose same *** marriage to everyone?

Let them marry but don't call it marriage. Let them have a new law, but being a minority they don't have the right to make everyone else bend to their will. That is both illogical and undemocratic.

There are people legally separated now who are denied the opportunity to right a wrong. How do you put a family back together when the husband or wife is already living with someone else?

Annulment is BS. I know people who were abandoned who cannot move on because you have to fork over the better part of half a million to get an annulment.

Who's imposing same *** marriage on everyone?

We are imposing monogamous male-female marriages on everyone here. When traditionally, there have been polygamous marriages with multiple wives and a single husband, polygamous marriages with a single wife and multiple husbands (rarer, only occurs in tribes with a lack of women) and communal marraiges with multiple husbands and wives.

The Abrahmic/Judeo-Christian view of marriage isn't the only possible system, and to pretend otherwise is to be blind. WE DON'T OWN THE DAMN WORD.

Nobody is forcing you to get married to another man. Where do you get that idea?

Hell, I'm all "EWWWW" at the thought of having ***ual relations with another man, but I will not pretend my own feelings allow me to dictate the lifestyle of others. (Besides, I'm also "EWWWW" at the idea of paying for ***, at the idea of using the poop hole and a million other things that I am perfectly fine with other people doing with other consenting adults).

Allowing same *** marriage is correcting a wrong in the legal system that discriminates against people based on religious beliefs... which should have NO role at all in the government.

The right solution is "National level planning, kill the pork barrel, end patronage politics"

Of course, the proposed constitutional changes won't do any of that, instead, extending congressional terms, giving tax perks, etcetera.

i'm just curious, how much does should a bomb-sniffing dog cost?

Whatever the amount, unless those dogs can sniff out drugs as well, it seems way out of line with this admin's drug war.

Sounds expensive. I would think the rearing and training are the most expensive bits of the dogs. They better work at that price tag.

According to SC he can't suspend the deputy ombudsman:

SC ruling vs presidential power over deputy ombudsman can’t be revised | Inquirer News

The Supreme Court decision made on Jan. 28, 2014 stating that the Office of the President has no disciplinary authority over a deputy ombudsman became final and executory in May that same year, which means it can no longer be appealed or revised.

I heard from secondary sources before that it can cost up to around PHP 1mn for a trained/specialized dog.

Maybe those in the know can confirm.
