Are you referring to the franchise sir? Without a franchise, ABS cannot operate.

^ ni reject nga kaagad ng senate sychophants, namely sotto and gordon, ang idea na patawag sa senado si paolo kasi puro tsismis lang daw. as if naman that stopped them from doing that before

btw, ano kaso nila kay sereno? iyong opulent accommodations niya during one of those international conferences pa din ba? mahina naman daw iyong hinaing na complaint na iyon sabi ni aguirre. kelangan pa daw ata mag-fabricate ng iba pang issues at corresponding evidences

Don't worry, we would still have PTV 4 to get our unbiased news.

    Who is Atty. Gadon?

    Reply from my FB
Atty Gadon is the lawyer of GMA. He is allied with Speaker Alvarez who was the one who publicly called for the impeachment of the CJ. He is doing the bidding of Speaker Alvarez.

"All of a sudden it is now whistleblower Taguba who will be investigated and could be imprisoned.
Brilliant move Gordon, Sotto and the rest of Duterte's dogs in Congress.
The Chinese drug smugglers, their Filipino facilitators and the Davao Group are now being exonerated." - from FB comments

No sir. It's not just money. They need the approval of the president like a mayor's permit.

SERENO IMPEACHMENT | Duterte moving to remove checks and balances – Bayan | News5 - InterAksyon

President Rodrigo “Duterte and his super-majority in Congress are flexing their muscle,” said Renato Reyes Jr., secretary general of the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan said as he noted “a similar impeachment drive aimed at the Ombudsman,” Conchita Carpio Morales.

The complaint against Sereno, filed also on Tuesday by lawyer Larry Gadon, has been endorsed by Representatives Gwen Garcia, Edgar Sarmiento, Anthony Bravo, Arnel Ty, Rodolfo Albano, Francisco Matugas, Aurelio Gonzales, Joel Almario, Romeo Acop, Federico Sandoval, Vincent Crisologo, Mylene Garcia-Albano, Pedro Acharon, Xavier Romualdo, Winnie Castelo, Ferdinand Hernandez, Jerico Nograles, Ace Barbers, Frederick Abueg, John Nieto, Roger Mercado, Lorna Bandigan, Ann Hofer, Gil Acosta and Jennifer Barzaga.

Bayan’s Reyes, while acknowledging “many differences with” the Supreme Court and Office of the Ombudsman, stressed that “the greater concern here is that the elimination of checks and balance(s) further empowers the Executive and paves the way for more abuses.”

    From FB:

The CJ is being impeached because she is a roadblock to full authoritarianism.

    IMPEACHMENT IS NOT ABOUT SERENO
Sereno impeachment is not about Sereno. Not about anything she did wrong.
Any imagined wrong would be less than 1% the magnitude of Duterte's very real sins - killings, shielded bank accounts, forfeiture of PH seas & rights to China, restoration of plunderers, extravagant junkets, unaccounted funds.
Sereno is being impeached because she is a roadblock to full authoritarianism.
Duterte wants all institutions to bow to his will.
First, Duterte went after dissenting voices - De Lima, Inquirer, ABS CBN, non-crony media.
Now he is after independent voices - CHR, Sereno, Ombudsman Morales.
Anyone who does not blindly support him is considered a roadblock to Duterte's ambition for one-madman-rule.

BS-CBN franchise ‘not for urgent renewal,’ clarifies lawmaker

MANILA, Philippines – The chairperson of the House committee on legislative franchises said "there is no rush" to renew ABS-CBN’s franchise because it is valid until 2020.

Palawan 1st District Representative Franz Alvarez made the statement in response to questions about President Rodrigo Duterte's declared bid to block the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN for allegedly not airing his pre-paid campaign advertisements in 2016, among other issues.

"ABS-CBN’s legislative franchise is not up for urgent renewal. It is still valid until 2020, so there is no rush in extending it. The committee is prioritizing franchises which are about [to] expire. So based on the committee workload, it is not on the front burner yet," said Alvarez in a text message to Rappler, when asked about the President's announcement.

ABS-CBN chairman Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III had earlier told the network's stockholders that they had plenty of time to work on the franchise renewal as it was due to expire in 2020.

Alvarez also said that in politics, a lot can happen in a short span of time.

“And speaking of time, a month is an eternity in politics. Alliances can form and collapse. Misunderstandings are patched up during that period of time,” he added.

The President bared his planned action against ABS-CBN nearly a month after he warned the network giant and the Philippine Daily Inquirer that "karma" would catch up with them for their supposed "unfair" reports on him and his presidency. (READ: Duterte tells 'rude' media" Beware of 'karma')

Duterte signed the law renewing the franchise of ABS-CBN rival GMA Network on April 21. GMA's franchise expired on March 20, 2017.

House Bill Number 4349, which is still pending at the committee level, is seeking to renew the franchise granted to ABS-CBN for 25 years. The current franchise will expire in 2020.

Should Duterte pursue his threat to block the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise, Alvarez said the President should "formally" convey it to Congress.

But the legislative franchises committee chairperson said his panel will do its job with or without the formal transmittal.

“It would be better if it is conveyed formally to Congress. Whether there is official transmittal or not, the committee will do its job, deliberate, and study the merits of the bill, and make the necessary necessary recommendation to the plenary,” said Alvarez.

But he said the passage of a bill into a law ultimately rests on the President, who has the power to veto it.

“The reality, however, is even if the bill hurdles both houses of Congress, the buck stops with him. He can sign or veto it, and the latter is hard to override,” said Alvarez.

A two-thirds vote in both houses of Congress is needed to override a presidential veto.

So if 2020 pa pala, ano pinag sasabi ni DU30. nananakot lang sa abs para maging fair sila sa pag babalita.

Pero IMO, yun mga news din kasi ng abs minsan sobra na pagka bias, basta against the admin balita ng balita kahit matagal na issue pilit binibuhay pa. mas madami pa good news sa VP nila na puppet ng dilaw kesa sa Admin. buti nalang yun mga politics news nila nasa middle na, so pag politics na usapan. sakto dinner time na, turn off na tv.

Pero may point din about kay Sereno. What i had observe lahat ng nakikita ng admin na hahadlang sa plan nila either sisiraan nila or gagawan ng issue, hanggang lumuhod nalang lahat at sumunod. tapos mga nasa admin ngayon either tao ni ex-PGMA or mga questionable persons like andanar, aguirre. so back to their old glory na ulet.

mukhang bakasyon na mga newbies dito, mas ok ganito tahimik and healthy exchange of kuro kuro lang. in the end what all we want is for the good of our country lang naman.

I hope walang mag bash sa post ko. peace....

    DZMM TeleRadyo (*DZMMTeleRadyo) on Twitter

I was listening to the DZMM afternoon program of Karen Davila and Vic, regarding the Trillanes and Gordon tussle.

Una niyang ininterview si Gordon then si Trillanes at tapos nagkomentaryo, ang galing!

Sinabi niya na dapat first family should be beyond reproach o wala man lang bahid ng duda sa credibility.

Si Paolo Durete ay binabangit ng isang testigo under oath, dapat lang na humarap siya sa senado to clear his name and the same goes to Mans Carpio who is criticizing Trillanes in facebook.

She example herself kung siya ay binanggit sa senado, Gordon will not protect her and will be called sa senado!

The next radio program was DOS por Dos Tunying Taberna and his partner, which is well known critics of Pnoy, and even mentioned that they don't lie Trillaness, but in this instance also agreed with Trillanes that Polong and Mans must appear before the senate.

Theoretically, it's still a law sir so the President can veto it if he wants to.

Politically, the President controls Congress. He has the super majority. If he says don't pass the law, there is a chance they will not pass it.
