probably too busy counting the money they'll get. Sa fuel tax pa lang, you don't need to be an economist to predict that quite a number of people will commute instead of driving. Have they made any solid ot even stopgap measures to ensure the added commuting load can be accomodated? Wala.

In other words, give us your money, bahala ka na sa buhay mo. In any case the madlang people seem to be quite happy with their tax savings...until they start buying basic needs come Jan. 15

That's why I have serious doubts about the economic team of Du30.

Very insular. Ang treatment ng taxes eh pang-LGU. Hindi tinignan ang trickle-down effect on basic commodities.

Nagulat nga ako 1st day at work halos lahat supplier namin nagsabi na price increase daw. Effective IMMEDIATELY hahaha

Langhiya, hindi pa umiinit puwet ko sa upuan uminit na batok ko sa inis. Kawawa mga mahihirap, basic commodities products namin na dini-distribute eh. Wala effect yang tax savings sa itataas ng bilihin.

I haven't checked my Mountain Dew prices yet.

From a finance perspective, I have to pay an additional 25 bps p.a. for DST too, so cost of borrowing of companies will go up, which have to be imputed into costs as well.

I believe in the saying “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” After all, there is a freedom in knowing that you won’t be held accountable for your actions. The lure of power is being able to do whatever you want whenever you want and for some reason that is how people view politics in our country.

Salary increase of the uniformed personnel is for the protection of those in power

Federalism is meant to perpetuate those currently in power

New tax is to support the salary increase

No election scenario will prevent the people get back at burden brought to them by the most ambitious government to ever come to power

^ the salary increase taking effect today is actually still part of president aquino's EO 201 (SSL 3rd of 4 tranches).

So in all actuality, wala pang salary increase under the present admin for the afp amd the like

I voted for Du30, because of his disciplinarian stance. Hard. Harsh. I mean its about time we get a leader who can kick a$$.

But now I have few concerns with his Government. I know he's not the only one to be blamed, but since he is leading it right now, I can say that he has the capacity to try and change them right away.

    1. Independent foreign policy, the China policy and West Philippine Sea stance - We won the case, it was proven in the rule-based approach that the most of the areas occupied by China in WPS are ours. Yet this govt choose to set it aside and trust China to live by its promise/word. Why are we trusting a country who steals what is rightfully ours? They say we wont win a war vs China, true, but do we see war as the only option to solve the standoff? Remember the jetski promise of Du30? He had me and may vote on that btw.

    2. Drug war - pag street pushers and users nanlalaban. pag foreigner, chinese, russian, taiwanese drus smugglers di nanlalaban. Make or break case is the 6B worth of shabu - up until now we dont know who's behind it. Who shipped it, and who's the intended recipient. Yung Broker ang nadidiin, and DOJ is looking at the wrong leads.

    3. Deals with China - 7Billion dollars worth of infra. Contracts are awarded to Chinese companies with bad reputation, most of them banned by World Bank due to anomalous contracts to corrupt sovereign states. Sounds like NBN-ZTE deal to me, to think that its only for 386Million Dollars. This is 7B USD. Talk about potentially corruption plagued deals that are built on UTANG or loans. Somebody did this before, and that was the main reason why the country has so many infrastructure at that time along with the huge Utang that up until now we are still paying it.

    The good:
    1. Smoking ban
    2. AFP modernization
    3. Build 3x - Its about time. Pero sana PPP na lang rather than utang. Less risk corruption.

^ #2 actually started during the last admin. Remember those jets doing bombing runs in Marawi? Those are the same jets he referred to as "wastes of money".

It would have been more believable had Du30 gone after corrupt government officials, elected or appointive instead of small potatoes like drug pushers and drug runners. In the first place. these are the people who protect and allow the drugs to proliferate so let's not kid ourselves.

Further, it's hard to believe no one is the least bit concerned that our Constitution may be changed to allow for the perpetual election of these corrupt officials? WOW. Change indeed but in a backward direction. Congress can't even enact a law to ban political dynasties under the present charter! Now you'll have unli-reelections of the same people from the barangay to the senate. This is not to mention what is being floated as NO-EL or no elections for 2019!

Also, what AFP modernization? By and large, majority of the military hardware being delivered to the AFP (FA-50s, MRRVs) were all negotiated and bid out for procurement during the last administration. It wasn't Du30's initiative. Siguro yung mas mataas na sweldo at pabahay sa sundalo pero that's not military modernization by any means.

And, sorry, I'm not buying that smoking ban and firecracker ban BS which they intend to turn into actual laws because several cities and municipalities already have ordinances which enforce those. Congress is wasting taxpayer's money by churning out laws which are redundant and it seems Malacanang wants the most mileage out of it.
