Job creation kuno...
OPINION: Chinese laborers for China-funded projects in our country? | ABS-CBN NewsWithout batting an eyelash, Budget Secretary Ben Diokno told ANC’s Cathy Yang in a forum last week that the Duterte government was “open to importing foreign labor”. Specifically, the government intends to hire low-skilled workers from China for China-financed infrastructure projects around the Philippines.
But Diokno failed to mention that in China-financed infrastructure projects, the Chinese government usually includes in government-to-government deals a provision for the hiring of Chinese workers. This was the template in China-funded infrastructure projects in Africa—wherever Chinese contractors laid down highways or railways, Chinatowns instantly cropped up along the project sites, according to studies conducted by scholars. These Chinatowns got their provisions from China so the host communities failed to benefit from their presence.
ano pa ba?
didn't i say China is exporting its infrastructure-building to benefit China itself?
China lends money to host countries, sends its own equipment, materials and labor to the host country
that's to maintain growth for the Chinese economy
they have industrial overcapacity so to utilize that overcapacity they have to seek other markets

a China earthmoving machines supplier just visited our office the other day
She's optimistic about China's infrastructure-building here in the Phils.
Sabi niya there will be more demand for their machines
our govt will not broadcast the unpopular details of China infrastructure-building
di nila sinabi loans yan
pinalalabas nila "investment"
di nila sinasabi Chinese labor, materials, equipment ang gagamitin

in the news: a bridge in kenya built by China collapsed
google it
When Shangrila The Fort was built, you can see lots of Chinese workers loitering BGC high street talking to their relatives back home. Shang offers free wifi for these folks.

what's the media gonna discover next?
that the projects will be using Chinese steel?
surpise surprise
I am sorry to hear about the proposed projects to be financed by china.
Right place, wrong time.
hindi paw raw nate turn over yung project. Sagot dapat ng chinese contractor yan, plus penalties for any delays
it's still damaging to the "China" brand
that Chinese infrastructure is unsafe
it puts into doubt the quality of Chinese built infra everywhere
if the Chinese govt is so image conscious, they should hang the person/people responsible for that bridge collapse
para mag tino mga contractor nila
this excise tax thing is bad
the effect it has on psychology is it makes people urgently buy stuff now while taxes are still low
so you're PULLING FORWARD FUTURE CONSUMPTION
money that was supposed to be spent in the future is being spent today
the economy may get a boost now
but after the taxes take effect you'll see consumption go down
the economy then slows down
Wala nang benta next year. What I'm wondering is if the luxury car buyers are buying them for personal use or to sell. Even if you have a markup of only 1M next year that's quite a return. You can also sell as late as 2019 when the maximum excise tax hike takes effect.
