There's also the NAIAEX. I'm sure there are other projects I just can't remember but I admit he did underspend on infra.

Personally I think the guy who is socially awkward and doesn't know how to empathize is still better than the guy who thinks drug addicts should be killed.

If Pnoy can be blamed for Mamasapano and the Manila hostage crisis, du30 should also be blamed for the soldiers killed by friendly fire in Marawi and EJKs.

no mystery why elitists hate du30
As a middle class employee, yes. And his values were in the right place IMO.

^ kaya dinidefend niya si P-noy dun sa Mamasapano. By the same reasoning, sabit din sya sa Marawi

    du30 is kinda like trump

conservatives in America hate liberals so much they're willing to tolerate trump than see liberals in power again

a crony is a crony regardless of geographics imho. They're just using the Manileno = konyo argument to play to the masses. That's my view anyways

    for example:

promdis (those with bisaya accent) know how manilenos (tagalogs) see them (bobo, katulong)

they see this rise of du30 as symbolic

promdis getting back at the condescending elites in manila

    hence the support

no matter how outrageous du30 is

    he's their leader

which brings me to this parallel

the Filipino masses hate the elites so much they're willing to tolerate Du30 than see an elitist (like Roxas) in power

so no matter what du30 says or does, no matter how outrageous, no matter how crazy

it's still better (in the masses' view) than seeing the elites run the country again

Sa pinas pa lang binukod na. Nung mapunta si pinoy sa labas ng bansa ngrereklamo ng discrimination. Nanay ko taga Luzon, Tatay ko from Visayas akoy pinganganak ng Mindanao. Nag graduate ng Mindanao State University, na sabi nila saan ba to?
Ilang taon nating ginawa yan? May positibo bang nangyari?

correct. nobody in his right mind will go there to buy a car. aabangan ka lang ng mga tambay at pag nakitang may dala.ka na bag (cash for the dp) yari ka na. dami kayang holdapan at snatching na nangyayari dyan sa tapat ng sto. domingo church.

btt. actually madaming manila elite ang galit kay pnoy. nawala ang karamihan sa kanila sa "action". eto yung circle ni GMA and FG. nahinto ang pagnanakaw nila kaya they all banded together to have GMA (or her stooge) back in power. nakaka-high blood nga following their posts in fb, talagang di bale bumagsak ang pinas mabalik lang sila sa pwesto (not necessarily in govt but in a position to take advantage of corruption).

when a govt is oppressive enough, it can rid the population of troublemakers but sacrifice innocents in the process

when oppression lasts too long the population will demand freedom

when a govt provides freedom, it can become too lenient and troublemakers go unpunished

when there's too much freedom and troublemakers get away all the time, the population will demand a strongman

    history repeats

strongman (marcos) ---> 30 years of freedom ---> strongman nostalgia developed (rise of du30)

I agree with the comparison to Trump. He is seen as an outsider who will stir things up and somehow, to those who feel they are desperate, disenfranchised, those who don't see a future with the status quo, think he is their savior.

Unfortunately their trust is misplaced. Already we are seeing bodies pile up with no signs of letting up. Rogue police look like the ruling class and seem untouchable now. Debt to gdp ratio is way up. We are seeing the same corrupt faces given juicy posts again. The proposed excise tax on fuel will have a lasting inflationary effect on our economy. Not to mention eat up the spending power of the poor.

The vote to put someone questionable like those two as president is like cutting a hole in the hull of the Titanic. Boy, will that get the attention of people seated in first class. Everyone is going to sink eventually but ironically it will be the poor/uneducated who are going to go first because they are the ones trapped below deck.

and everything du30 does is a big F U to the elites/previous admin

    the elites mock Mocha

    du30 gives Mocha a well-paying govt job

during the campaign, the previous admin fired Ronald Bato for openly supporting du30

when du30 won, he made Bato pnp chief

previous admin was highly pro US/anti China

du30 pivots away from US to China

if you're obervant, you'll notice du30's moves are deliberate

dirty finger to the elites/previous admin
