My theory is that he's using reverse psychology, similar to how tiangges/buyers would pretend to walk away from a deal para habulin mo sila. Not sure if it will work on the election setting though, i'm sure i'm not the only one who got turned off by all the urong-sulong.

Sana nagfile na siya ng candidacy for present and not mayor at the onset; ngayon tuloy, baka ma DQ pa siya na mere technicality.

i still think he'd make a good DILG secretary -- yung presidente ang good cop, siya yung bad cop.

Kumbaga Graduate si mar as undergrad hindi Graduate as MBA graduate.

Duterte was still not convinced. Show me a diploma and the graduation ceremony nakatoga kasama ang nanay mo," inisted the mayor.

Wharton University already responded to GMA News: Yes, MR graduated from Wharton. Case closed, move on, camp Duterte.

    Let's see:
    - Duterte curses Pope Francis, claims he didn't, says he was a victim of ***ual abuse from a Jesuit.
    - Duterte claims MR is not a Wharton graduate, proven wrong, still won't accept it, challenges him to a gun duel.

We all have come across a person like that, yung ayaw magpatalo, ayaw mapahiya kahit obvious na. Tell me, how do you feel about that guy?

A real man owns up to his mistakes, not change the subject or make personal attacks or threats. His supporters will obviously forgive him, and his dectractors might even respect him for that.

Honestly, the man is singlehandedly torpedoing his own campaign.

Like the rabid fans of Duterte on Facebook, you're twisting facts.

Yes, Mar graduated from Wharton's undergraduate program, and not from the MBA program. But have you even watched the interviews?

Duterte had the gall to say that Mar just attended short courses in Wharton. Since when was an undergrad degree = short course?

He challenged Mar to show graduation pictures. He did. Heck, even Wharton themselves verified Mar's graduation.

You're putting words in Duterte's mouth - show me an interview where Duterte went as far as saying "You did not graduate Wharton in the sense that a Wharton Graduate is a Wharton MBA holder, you only graduated Wharton's undergrad program". He has never said anything along those lines, it is obvious that he clearly believes that Roxas' Wharton claims are as much a farce as Marcos' Oxford claims.

But what's pissing me off even more is that Duterte is obviously doing all these antics for the masses. On ANC last night, he was proud to say that he barely passed Lyceum and San Beda Law (line of 7s in all his grades). It's the typical anti-intellectual approach that masses love. And people are falling for it hook, line, and sinker.

Oh, and one more thing - people scoff at a Wharton undergrad diploma like it's an easy thing to get.

It's much easier to graduate from Lyceum and San Beda (or UP and UP Law if you like), than it is to even get admitted to UPenn/Wharton.

If you wanna be technical, sure, a BS degree is technically less advanced than a JD or LLB. But put it in a local setting, I have much higher regard for the Ateneo/UP/DLSU college graduate than a Master's graduate from STI.

Wharton is no ordinary college - it's a freakin' Ivy League university.

That's how the mind of the masa works, nakaka relate kasi sila dyan. Remember Erap's "Pag aaralan ko yan" debate template? Masa loved that.

a 1st cousin of mine is a graduate of northwestern and i asked him before how was the process of admission. one does not apply for admission if you are not at the top. most of the time they invite their applicants. that is how ivy league universities operate. they are the ones who invite their students. pag hindi ka top 1% ng class then they do not care to know your name. they scrutinize your achievements in high school (what projects you led, what clubs were you the president of, what was your term paper about, did you graduate as valedictorian and why not?). pag di ka pumasa sa criteria nila then they will not waste their resources on you. a lot of their colleges are beneficiaries of endowment funds and they have an obligation to their benefactors not to waste those resources on undeserving students.

At least we get a taste of what to expect from Duterte and his followers.

Whoa! Now i know kung bakit walang charisma si Mar sa MASA. [emoji14]

Nakakalungkot lang isipin mar is the most qualified presidentiable at least on paper(education)😆 majority ayaw talaga sa kanya

Because what appeals to the masses are the "pareho tayong mahirap and muntik ng di makapag-tapos ng pag aaral lines".

Post niyo lahat ng alam niyo mga achievement ni mar kung mayroon man and what makes him the best candidate☺

then make a new thread, "MR for president". this is the "DP - Digong for president" thread where we scrutinize Duterte's capabilities, his weaknesses, and why or why not we should go for Du30 in 2016.
