Sen. Trillanes should be voted 'inventor of the week'. He is becoming more of an inventor than a senator

We call on Sen. Trillanes to execute an affidavit and reveal where and when he got his information and why he released it. Mayor Duterte already committed to open his bank accounts as long as Sen. Trillanes signs an affidavit. It’s now in his hands. If the senator is confident of his information, he wouldn’t mind signing his name to a legal document to back up his claim

as if everything stated in an affidavit is gospel truth or anyone who executes an affidavit is telling the truth or an affidavit is the repository of the truth. any lawyer who believes that is not worth his or her salt. that's the reason why we have a law penalizing perjury because man's (or woman's) conscience to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth is not that strong much less impeccable.

now, the only reason why atty alvarez insists that trillanes execute a "legal document" or an affidavit is that, they will file against trillanes a criminal case for perjury, thus indicating that the latter's exposè is not true. in other words, atty alvarez had asked trillanes to furnish evidence against himself. granting that the exposè is not true, of course why would he incriminate himself? no person in his right mind would do just that. so, if trillanes would not sign an affidavit, she would cry to high heavens that he was lying. if trillanes was just making up in his exposè, he need not execute an affidavit to be prosecuted for a crime because he already committed the crime of libel. the penalty of libel is graver than perjury!

When Mayor Duterte and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano signed a bank waiver and challenged their rivals to do the same, no single candidate heeded their call. Now that Mayor Duterte is leading the presidential election and is on the brink of victory, they not only joined Sen. Trillanes’ ridiculous accusations, they are now signing bank waivers left and right. It is downright hypocritical

a hypocrite is a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.

nobody but digong is the one who is a hypocrite here. what he signed at the outset was actually not an affidavit waiving his right to bank secrecy, but merely a PLEDGE. it was not legal document! it was not an actionable document. now that he was asked to sign a real one because everyone is going to execute it for the sake of transparency, what did he do? he hid behind the skirt of atty alvarez!

so, who is downright hypocritical here?

As the enemies of change become more desperate, we expect the attacks to become more vicious. We are also afraid that this will be a prelude to a possible massive election cheating. Thus, we call on the supporters of the Duterte-Cayetano tandem and the general public to exercise extreme vigilance amid the confusion and lies being peddled by groups with the intention to deprive the people of their rightful choice this coming election

Sharing a correspondence between one of our profs before in Pisay and a political insider. Given how the Duterte story is unfolding, this actually seems plausible.

Mayor Duterte: The ‘squeaky-clean’ candidate?

Many of Mayor Duterte’s supporters have portrayed him as the only candidate with no ‘political baggages,’ while portraying his rivals as ‘trapo’ politicians who have to eventually answer back to their patrons. But how accurate is this depiction of the Mayor? Below is a transcript of a conversation I had with a friend who worked for a significant period in the senate. He asserts that the Mayor is not as squeaky-clean as he is being portrayed to be.
Except for a few revisions to remove names of a few people, I left the transcript raw, to give room for interpretation. Take note as well that my friend tends to favour of Mar as a presidential candidate. Understandably, my friend’s opinion of Mar is influenced by the former’s observations as a senate employee.

AGS Wow, that's quite a serious accusation. Where did you get that info?
