there's always that part of me who admired Hitler and his actions that made us who we are today.

What actions of Hitler do you admire and how did they make Pinoys what they are today?

My only belief about Hitler is if he got his wish and ruled the world, he'd exterminate anyone who wasn't the purest and desirable white stock. Filipinos wouldn't even be worth using as slaves.

It was Japan who attacked Pearl Harbor and forced the US into WW2.

Most of the monarchies in Europe were already figureheads with no real power by the time Hitler came along, courtesy of the French Revolution back in the early 1800's. Other countries followed suit throughout the 1800's and the early 1900's.

Hitler never managed to delay the Soviets. Hell. He even made a pact with them, dividing up Poland between Germany and the USSR. It was the Soviets who wanted to delay Germany, not the other way around like you're saying. Germany was already prepared for war and the USSR was not. Why would Germany want a delay? His purpose for the pact was to make sure his backyard was safe while he attacked the Allies out west.

Most of the European powers were either exhausted or in complete tatters post-WW2. But, many still managed to hold on to their colonies in Asia and Africa until the 50's and 60's long after Hitler was dead.

Ironically, it was the US at its emergence as a superpower that let one of its colonies go. Guam and Puerto Rico (plus Alaska and Hawaii) didn't want to leave. Smart decision on their part? Who knows?

The Soviets stopped where they stopped because they met the Western Allied armies advancing eastward. If there were no US, British, and French armies in Western Europe, the Soviets would have advanced all the way to the English Channel. Hitler was cowering in his bunker while his armies out west were giving up.

Hitler didn't invent any of those new technologies. I don't credit him with anything.

Interesting that he dropped that "i have crossed the Rubicon" line during his campaign. Julius Caesar was offered the crown thrice by Mark Antony, but three times he refused. He was trying to get a feel of whether people would be cool with having an emperor or not.

And perhaps, some reverse psychology was employed, similar to haggling in tiangges.
