Hilux and Ranger lang. haha
What do you think about the new Foton Thunder. It was strikingly hot displayed at MIAS yesterday.
they only have 2.2L engines. but its cheaper though. this might help you.
MIAS 2012: Ford finally brings in the all-new Ranger - News | TopGear.com.ph
After seeing the new rager in person, lets just say im not impress. Rear cab isnt that big. Sa pictures is like a huge truck but in actual its not. The side looks so bald and plain, the front end looks too futuristic without any hint of musculine touch, its a pick up truck without macho look at the front end. The interior, the front dashboard ate up too much space.
I love the 2.2 liter with 150ps/370nm power. I cant wait to test drive one. control panels on the steering wheel are ergonimically placed. Soft seats and black interior is great. I love the snorkel attachment, no need to drill a hole just to attach a snorkel. Splash guard included for the rear.
axctually ganda rin ng FOTON Thunder sa price price nya P878T medyu ok na rin ciguro
Stumble upon this article in aus website. This might be of interest to our fellow tsikoteers. In this article please take note of the mentioned"Foton claims a 4-star Euro NCAP safety rating for Tunland while BT50, Ranger and Amarok have achieved the highest 5-star ANCAP ratings."Although it does not spin as high as some of the small European diesels, its flat torque curve provides plenty of truck-like, usable grunt.
On our short drive alongside the Cummins plant, the engine delivered plenty of punch down low and was best when short-shifted through the five-speed Getrag gearbox.
In one again aus web site it says:Sounds a true workhorse, at such you can forget the comfortable ride when driven with light load.Tunland has excellent street cred with its drivetrain; Cummins engine, Getrag gearbox, Dana rear axle and, in the case of the 4X4 models, a Borg-Warner transfer box.

Ako ang best bet ko sa BEST BUY PICK-UP eh ang Foton Thunder Pick-up for the up coming years... lalo na kung totoo na ang price ng 4x4 MT Model eh less than 1M pesos.![]()

Ang naka attract sa akin eh yun engine nya: Cummins ISF 2.8L Diesel... expected life is 500000 km before overhaul.

same here, i strongly believe foton is on the right track with thunder. For its 4x4, we just have to wait until such time it lands in our shore. At the present the 4x2 is the best buy, i just hope all other components other than that of engine and tranny can live up to be durable. Im not expecting to have a comfortable ride but im sure hope it can be a true workhorse.
For me the best buy pickup are the old ones equipped with manual pumps. Ung mga bago ngayon puro CRDIs.
Manual pumps are much much more cost efficient and will be able to endure all types of punishment over CRDIs.
Ang CRDI lagyan mo lang ng maruming diesel hindi na aandar. whereas ang manual pump aandar pa rin yan
