we're planning to buy on the first week of september but we're still not sure on what to buy. we were considering the isuzu D-MAX 4X4 Boondock II , what do you think about that guys?

    thank you in advance guys

The D-max Boondockis a good choice, but check out the strada 3.2 4x4 M/t since your out for a M/T pick-up. Its cheaper too by 70K based on motioncars.com pricing. More powerful, a nice 4wd system, though the styling is still subjective.

One plus for the Isuzu is their very low FC (higher efficiency). Sila lang ang lagpas 10 kms/L sa city. That secret was never been beaten by others.

    Boondok is a good choice..

By the way what is your main purpose of getting a pick-up, reason why I was asking because there are so many brands to choose from and you may compare them as per your requirements.

I suggest you to go with the FORD RANGER XLT TREEKER or 4x4. Well, it is very capable on rough terrains, quick, and very agile too.

Yes, both the D-Max Boondock 4x4 and the Ranger 4x4 would serve you well. Both are good off road, give good fuel economy and are very sturdy and reliable pickups. AFAIK, the D-Max is more comfortable and is roomier than the Ranger, but the Ranger has the more powerful engine between the two. The D-Max, being an Isuzu would naturally also have less expensive parts compared to the Ranger. Hope this helps.

    Get the DMAX.

    1. fuel consumption
    2. parts generally cheaper with wider dealer support esp. outside Metro Manila
    3. good torque distribution at low rpm*

*the Ranger may have more horses which is good for top speeds but on rough roads esp with a loaded bed, there is no need to race; what is paramount is hauling power even at low revs.

muka ngang wala na yung TS...

anyways regarding sa pick up.... i recently bought a strada too...

una ang gusto ko talaga is yung D-max kasi ganda ng pag ka boxy niya. pero when i read the reviews (which is ok din naman kaso cant match yung mga bagong pickup)and visited their showroom medyo na dismaya ako kasi yung labas lang ang bago pero ang loob at engine parehas luma just like the crosswind... feels like your buying a bnew car na hindi.

when i went to nissan naman medyo nalakihan naman ako sobra sa nav.... parang literal truck na truck ang dating talaga para sa akin. also nababa-baan ako sa stance niya. isa pa had a nissan sentra before bad resale value. though i had test drove a nav iba ang hatak.... very constant yung power delivery and di ganun ka ingay yung engine... yun nga lang di ko lang talaga gusto over-all looks niya. parang naliliitan ako sa headlight tapos napaka laki ng grill....

next was the toyota hi-lux.... parang ang mahal niya para sa packaging niya... im looking for a 4x2 pick up kasi.... of all the pick up we checked siya lang ang walang intercooler plus the price and power of the engine eh parang di comparable sa iba... so cross out agad siya sa list ko... pero kung 4x4 hanap ko ok siya....

then we went to ford..... nagandahan talaga ako dun sa ranger xlt... with the newly facelifted front grill ang ganda talaga... also the price isnt that bad too... ang nakatawag pansin sa akin kasi sa ranger eh yung LSD niya na standard sa lahat ng model. ito yung wala sa 4 na pick up na tinignan ko. plus the VGT.

so parang at the end ang pinag pipilian ko is yung ranger and strada.... sila lang kasi yung kasama ang bedline sa line up unlike yung iba nasa 1M na wala pang liner. its a small thing pero cant help thinking bakit di pa nila sinama yun.

ranger XLT ok yung safety feat may abs, LSD, airbag, biggy tires na rin... the dealer also told me na kasama ang bedliner.

strada GLX naman, walang LSD, small tires, with airbag, with bedliner, no abs.

i choose the strada over the ford simply because of the 2nd raw space.... comfortable yung pag umupo ka sa likod. gaya ng sabi nila sedan type yung position mo...

i dont care about the small bed of the strada kasi di naman ako madalas mag hahaul...

about the price, kasi inisip ko din na kung papalo ako sa 1M at ranger 4x2 ang kukunin ko, strada nalang din... dagdag ako ng konti 4x4 na na strada na yun...

kaya sabi nga nila, best buy or bang for the buck, STRADA...

depende nalang talaga sa needs mo or sa taste mo....

once again, get the Ranger! haha

i must say the Dmax Boondock is quite good looking but the Ranger is Better looking and has the POWER.

though you don't need to Race it's good to have some power to draw when you need it.

IMHO, the ranger has better overall quality.

    FORD RANGER 4x4 XLT Specs
