It is an ELF or a CANTER truck with the "PV" rear section and used as a "jeepney".
No brainer for business. Why re-invent the wheel?
----------------------------------
So if thats the case, why not use the chinese truck that has Ehnriko's cab and bolt-on the same "PV" rear passenger section?

Is it possible to have a jeepney exchange program similar to the US cash-for-clunkers? Jeepney owners / operators turn in their old units in exchange for a subsidized new type of jeepney or mini bus.
Where will the money come from to pay for such a program? From YOUR taxes. From higher income tax, sales tax, fuel tax, etc. And higher jeepney fares.Last edited by donbuggy; December 8th, 2009 at 04:45 PM.

i believe we have a lot of designs already implemented nationwide, especially in the provinces. operators / transport cooperatives can choose their preferred design and have these approved by the LTFRB.
in order to solve the growing motor vehicle traffic what is needed are the ff:
1. Implement a long-term mass transport system (a train system) especially in congested areas of the metro, as well as in developing areas like export processing zones or BPO areas. If train stations are strategically placed, and trains are properly maintained, this will ensure that the public will refer to the train system as the most efficient and most convenient form of transport. This will then lessen the dependency of people on jeepneys.
2. A government drive designating jeepney routes as an alternative transport in areas where buses and trains are not feasible.
3. Cooperation of jeepney operators and transport cooperatives in converting jeepneys into buses (or mini-buses).

December 12th, 2009 05:48 PM #149sir ghosthunter i dont wanna burst your bubble..In reality even how much we dream to be like other modern countries that have a systamatic public transportation system it my never happen in our country. i may seem mean, but sorry this is reality..Our goverment may not be able to fund such a massive change in mass public transportation. Mini buses? Mmmmm some streets in metro manila and in provinces are a tight fit for even jeepneys so more for mini busses..sir ghosthunter no offense or anything im just stating my opinion..this is a very intresting topic but we may have to submit to defeat and accept that the jeepney is here to stay..But, we can still work on the jeepney design and make strict regulations that can discipline jeepney drivers and get those jeepneys that look like and run like sh!t off the roads..if the jeepneys in manila looked like the jeepneys in batangas, manila might be a little more pleasing to the eyes.
