at least, if you use another brand oil seal, and it finally stops leaking after only a short thousand km, then you have your answer!
but if it still leaks, despite the use of another brand, they you also have your answer! ...it's probably the shaft...
if the oil seal is popping.. there could be a pressure build up. the transmission has a breather thats suppose to let pressure out instead of popping that seal.

Replacements are still done under warranty so I really don't have a hand on what parts they put in. Anyway, I'll talk to the Nissan people to use another brand of seal if, heaven forbid, my rig would need a third axle seal replacement.

Yes, sir. 2x pa lang naman ang sa akin. I hope na wala ng pangatlo. If any of us here has joined the Team Navara FB page, you can run a search on the "search group" bar and you can find several members raising the same issue. Some of them have had their seals replaced as many as 4x. I have read of one who had his entire differential assembly replaced because of this problem.

Regarding steering wheel handling on Navarra EL 4x2 Calibre is it light or heavy? I'm planning to buy pickup truck but I'm not sure on navarra. I tested Ranger xlt and it's has very light similar to Nissan Juke and that's one of my requirement for a pickup truck...

In this case, it is proven na meron manufacturing issue itong kaso ng rear power train ng Navara. Opinion ko lang to sir..depende kasi siguro sa batch ng units na lumabas sa planta. Siguro ang supplier ng differential assy at certain production batch ay iba. Kaya halos lahat ng mga supplied differential assy may mga problema.

Depende sa 'feel' ng driver sir. lets say, you are maneuvering on a parking area, para sa akin ang steering Navara EL ay nasa 4 from scale from 1 to 10. Sa totoo lang mas medyo matigas pa ang steering ng fortuner 4x4. but when you are cruising, ok naman

Sobrang bigat ng steering ng navara. Ive driven 15 cars more or less and the navara has the heaviest steering wheel. Its my daily drive btw. But i prefer matigas na steering.

Hi, I've been contemplating between Navara 4x2 AT and a sedan of the same price. I have not owned a pick up in my entire life so I appreciate your inputs. My objective is getting a vehicle with a high ground clearance.

    Here are my concerns:

    1. Riding comfort - Sabi sa akin, masakit daw sa likod at matagtag ang pick up for long drives. Is there truth to it?
    2. Turning radius - Is there a significant difference versus a compact sedan?
    3. Deck Cover - Im looking at Aeroklas. Its pricey but is it waterproof and secure as in may lock ba yun? I think leaving valuables like laptops and other equipment in the tuck bed is a trade-off.

    Thanks!

my personal experience with pick ups.

do not get one unless you have a specific need for it. (i.e. haul lot's of stuff on a regular or at least semi-regular basis, have a farm, frequent rough unpaved roads etc.)

    1. not to say pick up ride is bad per se but a sedan or cuv or suv will be more comfortable. I find that approximately 2 whole sacks(50kgs) of rice in the truck bed greatly improves ride.

    2. yes significantly greater turning radius. when I make a u-turn on aguinaldo highway i will eat about more than 3 lanes just to make the turn in one go. a sedan or suv could do it with maybe two lanes. in mall parking you will also notice the added length

    3. sorry no experience with aeroklas

Based on what you said, if your primary requirement is high ground clearance, pickups, SUVs and other similar vehicles are the way to go since no sedan will actually really qualify or meet the requirement in terms of HIGH ground clearance.

Allow me to at least say that I have owned and driven a lot of vehicles in my life. Name it - motorcycles, tricycles, ebikes, owner type jeeps, sedans, SUVs, small trucks, etc. Presently, I have a Navara EL AT Calibre and a Honda BRV as well as a couple of motorcycles and ebikes.

    Regarding your concern:
(1)Ride comfort - if comfort is your main consideration, then sedans are the way to go. Unless you are purchasing a vehicle above the 2M mark, then I don't think comfort will be much of an issue, whatever type of vehicle you are buying.
    (2) Turning radius - yes there is a large difference between a truck (pickup) and a regular sedan. If you haven't driven a pickup before, it will be much harder in so far as maneuvering in tight corners or making a turn is concerned, but if you are a good driver, you should be well adjusted in a week's time or less.
    (3) Deck cover - if you own a pickup, a good bed cover is important. Aeroklas is a good brand but if you plan to have one installed, I would recommend Carryboy or TopUp. You may also want to check out canopies.

After reviewing several cars about a year ago, I was deciding between the Civic, Navara and the Vitara since they are all similarly priced. I decided to buy the Navara since I wanted a vehicle that won't have any problems traversing the mountains of Laguna (my location requires a lot of steep climbs) and won't have any issues with floods, humps and what not. You won't have to worry much about ride comfort with the Navara since it is the only pickup in its class that has multi-link suspension at the rear instead of the usual leaf springs which makes the ride stiff for most pickups (let's not talk about the Raptor since it is costs almost 2M pesos and is in a league of its own). It will not give you a sedan-like ride, but it will not break your back and is actually quite comfortable to drive. (I have gone through the current SLEX carmageddon multiple times and the only issue has been my patience )

Had the same experience coming from Ford Ranger Ute and a Toyota Vios, It's really heavy compared to the electronic assisted ranger and vios, I think its just purely hydraulics kaya mabigat.
