Mitsubishi Triton Recalled
By Garreth Miers | June 2nd, 2010
Although Japanese rival Toyota may have been stealing the limelight with its vehicle recalls and perceived quality issues, Mitsubishi is seemingly joining the new fad.
Mitsubishi has announced today the recall of over 42,000 Triton Models manufactured between October 2006 and January 2009.
Mitsubishi has discovered bolts attaching the ball joints to the front suspension may not be correctly tightened. As a result these bolts may come loose causing a severe knock in the front suspension. It is also noted that in a worst case scenario the bolts may detach, rendering the car undriveable .
We do have to wonder how an issue like this could go unnoticed for over 2 years? Did it take two years of driving for the bolts to properly loosen?
Recalls of the Triton are set to begin June 11, where owners will be required to take their Triton into a Mitsubishi Dealer for an inspection and re-tightening of these bolts
