Balak ko po bumili ng manual na roller lid. Currently, may Carryboy rollbar na na nakainstall. May idea ba kayo kung anu pinakamagandang brand bilin?

utility box aeroklas - flat black, para sa akin, maganda naman, as the purpose of it satisfies my taste yung pinaka top nya is not bulky semi flat sya. di sya tulad ng isang model ng carryboy na parang nakaumbok.

Softlid Buttons - me drilling doon sa bed liner (hinde sa pickupbed), doon banda sa likod near ng salamin, as for the sides, naka clip daw, but i never checked kung me butas din para siguradong kumapit ang clip not buttons sa bedliner. Also, tinignan ko maigi ang material na gamit, well para syang Vinyl/leather finish sabi nila di naman daw masunog ng yosi, unless talagang sinadya patayin ang yosi sa softlid - inshort ginawang malaking ashtray ang softlid :P

FYI - Hood guard na nabili ko sa genevieve is not exactly fitted, medyo na-alog ng konti, ako na nag adjust dito sa bahay, nag lagay ako ng rubber spacers (pang tirador) sa mga metal clips para masikip na at di magasgas ang paint (clear tape lang kasi ang kasama ng hoodguard )

Also, does having a roller-lid amount to better fuel economy?

Hi Robieducks, welcome to the thread!

Well, regarding sa all new Strada, i don't think magrerelease ang Mitsubishi ng bagong model anytime soon, since halos kakarelease lang ng 2010 model ng Strada. Let's wait for sir xave's reply about this one.

With regards to the fuel consumption ng Strada, what i have is the 2010 GL with 2.5L engine, bale naga-average sya ng mga 9.8km/L (both highway and city driving). Yung iba kaya paabutin ng 12-14km/L depending on driving practices.

By the way sir, ganyan din kami dati. Our choices were D-Max and Hi-Lux. Wala talaga sa choices namin ang Strada kasi akala ng mom ko e mahal. Turns out Strada pa yung pinakamura and pinakasulit pagdating sa low-end models, kaya Strada na ang binili namin.

Actually sir, ok lahat ng choices mo sir pagdating sa pick-ups. Meron lang silang kanya kanyang pros and cons. But in the end sir, the final choice is still yours. Hope this helps sir!

P.S. Sir, Strada na lang piliin mo, tapos sali ka sa Strada Club Pilipinas! wahehehe..

wala pa naman advice kung may bagong model kase kakalaunch lang ng 2010 model, let me know kung may kukuha ng strada :D

yup sir possible yan....si pransis ganyan ang setup... also kung talagang mag roroller lid ka yung pace edwards nalang ang kunin mo....di ko lang sure kung meron silang pang STRADA na Roller lid...

Yes, but the drilling is very minor...and not with the bed directly....dun lang sa bedliner to make a mounting for the softlid..

and for the side...ito yung sinisingit sa bedliner para ma button yung mismong softlid

IMHO yes its better than carryboy since its US made....But I think the only thing that its better at is the Longer time before it would show some Wear...
meaning if the carryboy lid will last about a year without any glitches like rusting of the rails, a stuck up motor and water leakage, ETC...the pace edwards should be expected to last a longer time before it shows signs of wearing....But still its gonna show (BTW the timespan given is just an estimation)... That's why some of the BOSB's including me doesn't really recommend it unless you really need it for your Occasional & everyday purposes...and IMHO I believe that the other types of lids has more worth for the money....

and for the the gas mileage, yes, I think its plausible...because when you have a cover on the bed...it tends to make the truck more aero dynamic resulting to a much more efficient consumption...

sir, eto yung ilan sa mga bago sa 2010 strada:

horizontal front grille (previous model has diagonal grille)
redesigned front fog lamp housing
red back-lit instrument panel (older model has blue instrument panel)
redesigned alloy wheels (GLS and GLS Sport models)

chief, solution dyan is araw-arawin nyo yung pangungulit sa casang binilhan nyo. minsan kasi meron mga LTO liaison officers na tamad magfollow-up ng plaka/stickers. may mga nakakasabay akong magpaPMS ng sasakyan na nagsasabing sila na mismo nagpunta sa LTO para kunin yung plaka/stickers nila. yung iba sabi ng LTO matagal ng gawa yung mga plaka nila pero di pa din kinukuha ng casa.

by the way, yung sa akin, november 26, 2009 nabili strada namin. nakuha ko yung OR/CR ko ng february 2010. yung plates dumating a week after. pero yung sticker kahapon ko lang nakuha.

ganyan talaga pag nabili nyo ng oct-dec. yung sasakyan kasi #0 ang ending ng plate.
medyo in-demand ang # na yun kaya matagal lumabas ang mga plaka.

Other side of the coin about soft cover

My previous truck is mazda B2500 with soft lid cover as supplied by the manufacturer, the fastening hook is made of hard rubber or neoprene material. The first few months it is nice & beautiful plantsado plantsado, but then due to constant exposure to the weather it shrunk that it is difficult for me to hook & lock, some instances if im running on high speed it will flip open like a sail that I need to stop & securen the sheet, also dont be surprise that lighted cigarette butts lands on the cover ,thrown by stupid people while in queue in the traffic .

nope, its not gonna damage it.....may naka balot na rubber material dun sa metal...look into it carefully........makikita mo na from the tip nung pinapasok sa loob biglang kakapal until dun sa dulo sa left...

chineck ko din yung ilalim....wala ring gasgas whatsoever....
