November 12th, 2006 03:01 PM #612to the new owners of the new stradas, congrats! we got a silver gls MT last nov 2 but it is being used in gensan.
guys how far from the vehicle can you make the alarm/keyless entry remote function? yung sa amin kelangan beside the driver's door ka talaga pag pindot mo ng arm/disarm. medyo may delay pa ng mga 1 second. ok pa naman sana kasi may built-in turbo timer and remote start, although delikado yung remote start kasi gumagana kahit naka-first gear. perfect for siya for ATs.
docglen, what brand and type did you replace the stock tires with? Is it better than the stock.

November 12th, 2006 03:35 PM #613The seats are firm but I don't find them uncomfortable. My longest trip so far has been just for one hour.
Some initial observations on the GLS AT:
> u need to get used to the remote, also observed that u have to be near the vehicle para one clik and arming or disarming. Also, u need to press the buttons for about 1 second. I've kept the default auto-arm setting so it automatically arms when I leave the vehicle.
> Hi-way (SLEX) driving fuel consumption per trip computer this morning - Sucat to Soutwoods and back was 12.5 km/liter. Yes I've changed the setting from liters / 100km to km / liter. Also calibrated the compass by driving around in a circle as indicated on the computer screen.
> more power and torque than I expected from a 2.5L CRDI Turbo Intercooler AT. Hardly any turbo lag and very responsive. Though still keeping rpm on low side during break-in. At 2,000 rpm you will be cruising at 100kph, sandali lang nasa 130kph ka na. Can definitely keep up with our 3.0 CRDI Trooper !
> happy so far . . will also report any kinks that I observe or experience.

The seats feel like the seats in European cars. Firm but not uncomfortable.

November 15th, 2006 12:42 AM #617ek2jayvee, i replaced my stock tires to bridgestone all terrain tires. 275/70R16 nitrogen inflated. i hardly felt any change in performance. mejo bumaba lang ang fuel mileage ko. from 12km/l mixed highway and city driving, now its only 9-10km/l.

this looks like one sweet upgrade: http://ralliart.com/06topics/06news/...riton-sus.html
RALLIART INC. (President: Masao Taguchi) will release its Suspension Kit for Cross Country Competition for the Triton, from 23rd November 2006.
The Suspension Kit for Cross Country Competition was fitted to the Mitsubishi Triton of TEAM H.D.C. which successfully finished the 2006 Asia Cross Country Rally. Excellent feedback from road surface conditions to the steering enhances stability, providing a flat surface feeling even on rough roads. Fitting this kit has also improved rolling rigidity. Aligning the kit with standard rear hybrid L.S.D. improves not only turning performance but also dirt driving performance for advanced drivers. Front shock absorbers are pillow ball type while rear shock absorber mountings have rigid urethane bushes fitted. The damping force can be adjusted by a dial: 40 rebump levels and 30 bump levels for the front, 30 rebump levels and 30 bump levels for the rear. The oil volume has been increased by connected the reservoir tank to the cylinders.
