Regarding my previous plan to have a chip upgrade, well, I didn't pursue it because of some reasons:
1. Cost - the expensive, though I think, good ones, are about 50-60k pesos, while the cheaper ones are about 30k, either not plug-n-play or no shop to show.
2. Warranty concern - even if it's plug-n-play, if something happens to the engine, the factory computer might detect some re-programming. Then came the story of egayski about the stalling/choking engine.
3. Acceptance that the 2.5L engine has more than enough power and realization that pick-up trucks are not race cars
