HANDLING ISSUE

I tried some off-roading yesterday. it's not actually off-road but a long stretch of gravelled road with plenty of potholes. i noticed that when the front tires hit potholes or bumps the truck drifts, slides, sways - i cant describe it well but to say the least, handling is compromised. this also happened on asphalted roads where some section has pronounced corrugation/ small waves (perhaps the enigeer is a marine engineer) and the truck drifts espcecially on road bends. this could be noticed at speeds ranging from 50-70 kph. of course going faster would be dangerous. my tire pressure 30psi.

this phenomenom was primarily the reason i disposed by 2001 strada when even the casa cant give a good explanation.

Have anyone noticed/observed this?

that happens with stock tires. it happened a lot of times to me, just backread to earlier posts, ive posted my observations too. its my primary reason for changing my tires from 265 to 275. a LOT more stable.

Wawa Dam is one of the oldest Dams created during the spanish era. It's also where the legend of Bernardo Carpio comes from (giant who separated two mountains). Anyways, it's a must see...

I noticed this too and also made a comment about it before. What I felt was the front suspension was a little bit jumpy on roads with small bumps, which becomes a little worse on fast turning. On the rear, the bed would somehow wallow a little.

I guess this is what happens when the suspension is tweaked towards comfort.

This improved by changing my tires to all-terrains with wider profile. The stiffer sidewall of the A/T tires lessened the rear wallowing and somehow improved road hugging.

If you have the moolah, there's now an available Old Man Emu springs and shocks for the strada which may improve further the suspension without sacrificing comfort.

Welll... the Strada is really tuned more for comfort than performance... if you want a truck with good high-speed stability, it's probably the Ranger, Hilux or Navarra you're looking at... though the Navarra, according to Beeboy Vargas, is a little too low for off-roading... but he says it drifts like a champ.

But compared to the likes of the Ranger or Hilux, the Strada's ride is night-and-day better... you really can't have it both ways on a ladder frame pick-up.

lugarai = yung sakin sa casa.. 2,500.. binutas yung bumper sa likod pero hindi halata na may back sensor... o.k naman very helpful specially at night..

Bro, pa audition naman pag ok na set-up mo...hindi pa ako nakarinig ng all-DLS set-up....its usually different brands....but i LIKE DLS for their subs

Im also planning to put up a removable sub in the middle legroom portion but extending up to the handbrake......papabiyak ko yung compartment sa may handbreak to accomodate the sub......tsaka para tumaas ng konti at maging armrest na rin....walang kuwenta yung compartment sa gitna except for storage purposes....di mo na siya magamit as armrest when driving.....planning to get 10" RF slim lang unless lumabas yung super-slim sub ng JBL plus Hifonics amp siguro..

DLS Performance amp siguro. Para DLS all the way. Hehe. Yun kasi set up ko sa Innova, halo halo. DLS seps, Sony Xplod sa read, Kicker subs, and JBL amp. Ok ang SQ (syempre Mr Kid Audio himself ang nag quality control). Try ko lang all DLS setup. Medyo under planning pa namin ni Kid ang subs. Maganda yung plan mo, naisip ko rin gawin pero di ko kaya gawin kay Strada.

sir moxxx, yung kenwood HU ko nawala din yung display niya last saturday, pero yung mga keys and buttons niya gumagana naman. it happened after i changed cd's. so i figured baka hindi lang lumalapat ng maayos yung face, kinalikot ko for a few minutes, yun nga ang salarin, tumatalon yung isang side ng face pag binuksan to change the cd. after fiddling with it, okay na ulit siya!!

hopefully palitan nila yung HU mo!! pero ingat ka na lang din at baka same body ang ibigay sa iyo with a different face na lang.

Yung KENWOOD HU ko din nasira weeks ago.. nawala din yung display, nung una yung track number lang, til lahat wala na.. brought it sa kenwood service center sa roosevelt tas tinuro ako sa Super Manufacturing (katabi lang).. nung una ayaw tanggapin, dalin daw sa dealer ko.. sabi ko sa pampanga pa yun.. buti pumayag.. iniwan ko before lunch tas balik ako 3PM ok na.. good thing under warranty..

Those problems with the headunits seems to be increasing...

Anyway, I just found a red A/T Gls 2007 model in an ad somewhere. Looks like an early 2007 model. For those people who are waiting in line for their units to arrive, this might be a good option. . Price looks kinda steep at 1.128..for sure thats negotiable.

yeah, the turbo timer is not included when you acquire the unit after September 2007.
