just want add up my knowledge regarding flooded unit.... much better to bring the unit to Casa and have it check coz the computer box or i should call it the Engine control Unit ( ECU ) might be flooded too thus would only short circuit the board hence making more damage to the ECU... correct me pls. if i'm wrong..........
If i may also add to this topic... (Warning! Excute under your own circumstances). This is a relatively possible alternative instead of buying a new one.

I've been getting inquiries on what to do to nabahang ECUs. I hope this helps.

If your ECU got wet with flood water, there is a chance it can be saved.

    1. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR!!! Powering up the ECU will most likely short circuit it.

    2. Disconnect from the vehicle. Open up both sides of the ECU and rinse with clean water. We want to remove all dirt and dissolved salts carried by the flood water.

    3. Dry thoroughly with an electric fan or hair dryer. (Take note! THOROUGHLY, BE PATIENT)

    4. Dry the socket in the car and any other electrical components that were reached by flood water.

    5. Reconnect ECU, say a short prayer, attempt to start car.

    6. If that doesn't work, CASA is the next option.

i went to Shell along Timog this afternoon to gas up, daming nagpapa-wash and perhaps change oil, not less than 10 units of assorted vehicles.

that may also be the case with the casas so be sure to schedule yours in advance to avoid looong queue.

    Hi eveybody,

Here's a useful thread that we can share to everyone regarding submerged cars :

    http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63374

I feel very uneasy because our thread is very quiet. Usually we average 3-5 pages a day.. but now, we barely made 3... I hope everyone is ok.

My agent from Diamond Motors Valle Verde Pasig has just informed me that as of today there were 50 Mitsubishi units being towed to the CASA. There were at least 5 Montys. :sigh: I hope they can fix it all...or much better change those vehicles with a new ones...but yet again, they have to check their insurances first...

i just hope that those pulled out units are untouched by the flood waters.

    HTH.
Thanks for the info Sir Ian. So, for my peace of mind, I should go to Citi Motors dealers instead? Would you know kung saan yung stockyard ng Citi? Thanks again.

Hi, just looking at all the pictures and videos that are circulating showing how the typhoon and flood devastated Metro Manila... I really feel for those who lost their house, cars and loved ones... i just pray that they recover in a short period of time.

For us who were very fortunate, I guess what we can do is share whatever we can spare and contribute in any way to help others who were badly hit.

My prayers go out to all those affected.

you do have reason sir mic to feel uneasy. most of the people now is focused on the recuperation from the typhoon aftermath rather than spending their time posting/reading the thread...but i do pray there's no or rather at least few Montys only who was badly affected by ondoy....

I heard that Citi Motors units are from Batangas as well. Sir. honestly, we've waitied for 2 months already. It really depends on the color that you prefer. originally i ordered white, we have to change it to gray so that we can have the unit earlier. we've heard na there will be a new price increase next month.

I got this from the other thread about Mitsubishi Units ruined at their plant: http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showt...=63360&page=33

Can anyone confirm this? I am still expecting our ordered unit within the next 2 weeks

    Broke my heart
Ganyan din ang scene sa village namin. In our block alone there were 3 MS that was submerged during the floods.

I was just lucky to have left the house 20 minutes before the floods came.

    Sir JPG,

Ito ba yung along Imelda Avenue? If yes, nadaanan ko ito on the way to Pasig-Cainta last Sunday.

Good news to all of us prospective Montero Sport owners! The Mitsubishi plant in Cainta, Rizal is located on an elevated part of Ortigas Avenue Ext. That means all new units were not submerged in floodwaters! Yaay!! But when there is good news, there is also bad news.. Our SA in Diamond Ortigas told us that delivery of new units have a possibility of being a bit delayed.
