Sago.. my HIDs are 50watts.. I think that's the next level over 35watts.. unlike halogen where its 55watts.
This was a dilemma of mine also, then i spoke to my light guy... think about it this way... read the manual, our fog lights are using 55watt bulbs. HIDs expel less heat than its halogen counterpart. The only thing with HID is that the tube itself is longer, hence closer to the headlight lens. So its really hard to be 100% sure.. BUT.... my low beams and my fog lights have been 50watts since the day after i got my montero back in oct.. no sign of melting yet...But i have a backup plan already just in case it does... hehehe
But like i said, in theory the HIDs burn cooler than halogen. We contemplated this with my light guys but i guess we'll just have to see in a year's time. I don't know with other brands if its the same, cheaper parts, cheaper materials? Maybe its warmer? I don't know... But like i said, i have no fear with my light guy, they aren't this well known for nothing..
For those who went to the trans show.. did you notice that more than half maybe even 75% of the cars there had the same sticker/badge regardless of the shop that hooked up the cars or even if their competitors are only 1/4 thier price... there must be a reason there.. just a thought.

May 22nd, 2009 04:44 PM #3025Message for NTYcE : This is Simon. I visited A-Toy earlier this week and told Ton Ton that I really admired the photos of your Montero that I have seen on Tsikot. He showed me the skirtings and there was another white Montero on the side walk that I looked at (this had side panels along the doors but no front and read skirtings). I have not ordered any kit because I have not yet received my vehicle. What I am not sure about is whether the front and rear skirtings will still look good if I retain the original wheels or does one really need to upgrade the rims at the same time. There is no doubt that upgraded rims, new tyres and front and rear skirtings will look great but replacing the rims and tyres really increases the total cost to a level I am not sure I want to spend right now. I will just wait until my unit is delivered and then see how I feel about it.
The white montero has been there for quite sometime now, i've noticed too since I was there almost everyday for the past month designing another kit. The door garnish and the rear skirt is not my design, that's why i didn't install it on my car(love your own! hahaha), and to be honest, the rear skirt has not grown on me yet. Plus it doesn't fit my bumper since my exhaust is in the way. The door garnish is not too bad, but for
My suggestion is try putting on the front skirt and rear tailgate garnish and grill if you don't plan on getting rims yet. I wouldn't put on the spoiler, the rear chin nor the door garnish just yet. At least this way, your front end will look aggressive but not wide enough to make your wheels look too small and the rest of the body is just normal. The rear garnish, will just make your back end look more full. Mind you though, when you put on the rear skirt, you will mostly likely need to think of repainting the rear bumper, unless you're planning to match the rear skirt with the matte color of the lower bumper?
I'm sorry if i don't make sense, its hard to explain what i'm picturing in my head in words. But try it, just order those parts and put them on and see, its easy to order the others anyways.

hi to all 4x2 owners!
has anyone noticed that the "supposed air circulation suction ducts" ('not sure of the exact name of it) which is located on top of the side aircon vent (2 extreme sides of dashboard) are both completely covered with a lid underneath? That is supposed to function as suction duct for the cold air to recirculate thereby easing the job of the aircon compressor. what is that duct for? just a design? or it is just my unit? tia for your response.

*jepoy m., thanks very much! it is very much appreciated.
as far as detailing shops in Pangasinan is concerned, im afraid im not familiar po because i'm up here in (my hometown) Baguio City and the last time i took time in Pangasinan was about 2 years ago. I presume there are detailing shops at the Dagupan/Calasiao area since most new car dealers are located there (Mitsubishi/Honda/Toyota/Nissan/etc). I also presume you got your unit from Motorplaza, Inc. you can ask whoever they can recommend. Take the hint from there nalang po. I hope that helps.
Thanks again. and do enjoy your Monty!

sorry for this stupid question...i should have consulted the owner's manual before asking tsk tsk...i found the answer. our unit is not equipped with the windshield and side door windows demister. those (which i thought cold air suction ducts) are actually air vents too; used as demister for the side door windows. sorry po.
