I highly doubt it that the offset for the rims are +40mm, that would put the tire treads inner towards chassis line. Manipis na ang width ng Adevnture differentials, baka po yung ET for offset is pertaining to the differential's offset from front tread. Aftermarket wheels have max +/-20mm offset, while wheel spacers average 5mm only.

nga pala, may isa pa akong tanong. OK bang ipalit na bagong tires and wheels for an Adventure GLS Sport 2003 ang may ganitong specs:

    wheels: 16"x7" 5 holes PCD 114.3 offset 40
    tires: 215/60R16

di ba lalampas sa fenders yung bagong tire and wheel combo ko? insights please, anyone? thanks!

ah, ganun po ba? ang labo ah, ang nakasulat kasi talaga sa manual is 40mm offset. yung ET po kasi is just a shortcut for offset.

Imo, 7" width is too wide for 215mm tire tread, 6" width would square the treads off. Plus your limiting factor is the PCD 114.3, wheel makers often set their design to -10mm. 4 & 6 stud patterns have more options for offset measurements.

Your best bet is to visit any tire wheel dealer and have your ideal tire/wheel combo measured and fitted. Do take note of your rear fender flares, too wide and it would scrub the tires when fully loaded.

ah ok.. i already have a particular set of wheels in mind that i want to buy.. so is it a good idea to first buy that set of wheels then inquire at any tire wheel dealer what particular tire size will fit into the wheel i bought?

You don't have to buy the wheels if you're not sure with the sizes yet. Often than not, these shops offer free testing if your specified sizes would fit the arches and steering limits.

dude, i looked into the 1010tires.com website. The tire size calculator tells me that the 215/60R16 tires can be fitted to wheels with rim widths ranging from 5.5-8.5 in. Besides, 215mm is more or less equal to 8.5in, so there would be approximately 1.5in difference between the tread width of the tire and the rim width of the wheel if i'm gonna use wheels with 7" rim width. correct me if i'm wrong, though. thanks!
